MIKE LAW
is the vice-president of marketing and sales for Four Brothers Entertainment,
the management company for The Centre in
Vancouver for the Performing Arts. Michael played professional lacrosse for
the Boston Cannons (Major League Lacrosse-US) and was drafted to the Vancouver
Ravens (National Lacrosse League-Canada) for the 2002 season. He will be
representing the USA in the World Games, which will be held in Perth, Australia
in July, 2002.
Michael
Law, 23, is the son of Dr Ronald Law, one of four Chinese-American brothers, all
surgeons, who are Four
Brothers Entertainment. While the Law brothers reside in Denver, Colorado,
commuting to Vancouver to oversee the re-opening of the theatre, Michael is the
family’s representative here, living in Yaletown.
Plans
are to utilize the stunning, high-tech venue to its maximum, according to
Michael Law.
“We’re
not just a musical theatre anymore. The
Centre will be a new digital theatre with HDTV and 3D sound, which will make
it a great venue for broadcasting live out of the theatre, digital movie
premieres, concerts, music production, and satellite downlinks into the theatre,
among many other options.”
When it
re-opens in May, the Centre will feature 5.1 surround sound and digital
animation and projection, integral to the high tech action dance show, Of
Heaven & Earth. It’s a daring and modern adaptation of a classic
Chinese story, combining 1,000 years of Chinese acrobatics, dance and martial
arts. Produced by Four Brothers Entertainment, Of
Heaven & Earth played to sold-out audiences in its Beijing debut.
Mike
Law is a Colorado native and attended the University of Denver, where he earned
a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration in Finance/Marketing and a
minor in Business Information Technology/E-commerce. A student athlete at the
University of Denver, he excelled academically, receiving student athlete awards
for his performance both in the classroom and on the field. Mike was the captain
for the DU lacrosse team, a Division I program. At the end of his senior
program, Mike was the first Division 1 All-American to graduate University of
Denver as well as the first person west of the Mississippi to make the national
team.
Mike
is the oldest of three siblings and is son to Dr. Ronald and Susan Law.
Kristen, Mike’s sister, also currently attends the University of Denver
and David, the youngest, will be attending Princeton in the fall. Their family
resides in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
