WHAT
IS INTELLIGENCE? Intelligence is as described in the dictionary as the quickness of understanding; intellect (faculty of knowing and reasoning). Some people share a perspective on intelligence that is widely used. Human intelligence is a measurable quality that is possesses by different people to various degrees, and constraints each individual’s mental capabilities. It is seen as an inherent capacity determining a person’s potential to succeed in performing tasks and solving problems that call upon cognitive powers.
WHAT IS IQ ? IQ is short for intelligence quotient. As describe in the dictionary, I.Q. is the ratio of person’s intelligence to the normal or average.
HOW DOES ONE TEST IT’S IQ ? IQ tests measure important intellectual quality in children and adults. One can test their own IQ by taking an IQ test from a book of challenging test or from the internet with questions that can make one’s mind crack. After one has taken the test then he/she sees their own test score and find out how good their IQ is. But IQ test scores are no more than an indication of one’s performance at a range of mental test.
IS IT NECESSARY TO TAKE AN IQ TEST ? Definitely no. Tests are just to see one’s IQ ability. IQ tests are not meant to be universally valid, nor could to give as pure a measure of IQ as be obtained. But sometimes it is necessary to do an IQ test. Why? IQ test is sometimes determined by some jobs to see how well the applicant can perform some required abilities for abstract thinking & problem solving. So if one is successful in performing the tasks then the chances of getting the job will be higher. Whereas in education prospective, some schools use these test for some children to be administered as a student to the school. Some schools even use IQ tests to determine which class the student enters. For example, if one of the student has a high IQ score, s/he will be put into a classroom with students with the same level of intelligence. Some even do this to determine if s/he can take a particular subject.
TYPES OF IQ TESTS. There are about two types of subtests. One is a verbal subtest and the other is performance subtests. Verbal is doing with vocabulary whereas performance is with visual or picture testing. But using your IQ means using your mind to do different challenges like solving riddles, rearranging anagrams, cracking cryptograms, etc. In most PC you can surely find one game that is good for IQ challenging. There are various brain buster games. On the left most top corner is used for ones hearing testing. Some are used for sight testing and some are mental testing. But we will present to you six different types of IQ. They are RIDDLES, ANAGRAMS, CRYPTOGRAPHY, WORD PUZZLES, NUMBERS AND ODD-MAN-OUT.
