My husband and I came across a McCaskey cash register at an antique shop near our home.  We had wanted one for a while and it happened to be in our price range so it came home with us.  We wanted to find out more about it so we searched the internet; to our surprise, there was little or no information about it or any other McCaskey products.

The reason the McCaskey name attracted us more than the others was the fact that my paternal grandmother worked for the McCaskey company in their offices as a secretary.  Growing up in Alliance, Ohio  everyone knew the McCaskey name and where their factory was located.  After acquiring our second cash register we knew it was imperative to know more about them.  What better way to find the information that we needed than to go back home to Alliance and start digging.  This web site will contain the results of all of our research; new pages will be added as we find new information.

To all those who visit my web site.  Stay as long as you like relax, browse and enjoy and come back if you like.  Please do note though, if you have noticed on your visit I give credit when credit is due when someone has contributed to my efforts.  I have worked very long and spent many hours researching the information that I have posted and will continue to do so.  I will try to help in any way that I can to find information for you that you do not see here.  I do not mind if you use any of the information that you see here as long as you give credit where credit is due. If you use any information from my web site for other web sites or auctions on ebay or otherwise without my permission or without giving credit where credit is due, I will contact you and ask that the information be removed or a post be made as to where you recieved your information. These will be the only two options made available to you.

To those of you who email me to ask the value of something. Please note that I really do not do appraisals. I can look at your pictures (please include them when emailing me) and tell you what I have paid for McCaskey machines and items that I have purchased. I can also give you an estimate on what I think that they might be worth, as value depends on condition of the item, how much in demand the item is,and how much someone is willing to pay for that item. These last three things determine value. What someone may pay $500 for this week they may only pay $50 nest week. Please also note that I do not make any profit from this site, I do it just for the enjoyment of discovering new things out about the company and it's goods.
