The pictures that you see here are from a postcard size ad that was mailed out to customers and future customers. Numbers 1 and 2 are one side and numbers 3 and 4 the other side. The outside of the fold up ad envelope says in big red letters " The McCaskey Account Register" and then in smaller letters under the "The Wonder Worker." It also states that "This Folder Contains Money! It's up to you to find it." The inside extolls many of the virtures of the Account System. It tells you all of the ways you can save money by going with the McCaskey Account System. The card that you see to the right and under number 4 is a reply postcard addressed to the McCaskey Register Company. The reply card says "Dear Sirs, Please send me a catalogue of Register and samples and prices of your Multiplex Carbon Pad and oblige. You could send your card back at that time for just a penny! |

To the right is a sales receipt for a McCaskey Register. It shows the cost of the Register, how much was paid and how much is due now. This was a due bill so to speak asking for the final amount due of $12.00. As you can see the date was 1916 and the amount of the Register was $140.00 which back then was a lot of money to some merchants. The fine print at the bottom kindly states "We are obliged to pay exchange on checks except in the few large banking centers, and, therefore, request you to remit by Postal or Express Money Order. If it is inconvenient for you to remit except by check, kindly add 10 cents the minimum charge for exchange. |
