Pery A. McCaskey was the founder of The McCaskey Register Company. From information that I was given by a family member the McCaskey family originated in Pennsylvania. His parents were Albert and Sarah J. McCaskey. |

He had two brothers, William E. and Levi G. He married Margaret A. Hughes on November 24th, 1898. They had one son, Rankin C. McCaskey. The last information I have is a census record from Lakewood, Ohio in 1930, he was age 62. There is also a Jeremiah McCaskey as a possible grandfather or great grandfather and his sister Elizabeth(maiden name McCaskey). I would like to thank Jimmie Cooper for this information he has provided me. He is a member of the McCaskey family and looking for the connection between Jeremiah and Perry A. and himself. I know that the McCaskey family originated in Pennsylvania and migrated west to Ohio, Indiana and points further west. If anyone knows any of these names or a familiar to your family tree or you are trying to make similar connections in this family please contact me so that I can put you in touch with Jimmie. |

He founded a small retail/wholesale cash register company in California. They handled many lines of cash registers, buying and selling cash registers retail and wholesale. They used NCR's to rebuild into systems which they had obtained orders for and also used Victor-Hugin and R.C. Allen both in mechanical and electronic just to name a few. They also provided both sales and service for all the lines they handled. One thing never changed though, he loved being a cash register salesman!! |

Orletta Mantwell stayed in Alliance,Ohio. She went on to become a seamstress for a small family owned clothing store and stayed there for many years until she retired. She moved to Arizona with her daughter and family where she passed away at a ripe old age. She is missed and was my paternal grandmother. |
