BERSERKER
Featuring Tasha Yar's sister, pre-boobjob

Yup, it's Beth Toussaint. Her pretty steamy sex scene near the beginning of this movie is perhaps its only merit, although when you compare her breasts here to what they were like three years later on Star Trek: The Next Generation, you might be disappointed.

Six young adults camping in the woods tell stories of the viking berserkers, who would dress in the fur of slain bears and wear their snouts as masks. Then, a big hairy paw from offscreen kills them one by one. The question is, is it the bear we keep seeing wandering about, or is it a berserker? Here's a hint: the title of this movie is not, I repeat, NOT "Bear".

The back of the box insists that this is 85 minutes long, even though the copy I viewed didn't go a minute past 62. It also jumped right into the movie from the very beginning of the tape - no FBI warning, no trailers, no 2-minute blank spot, not even opening credits. Bam, right into the movie. I suppose I must conclude that the beginning was cropped, for some reason. Not that it seems to matter - it's not like the plot of this one depends on the viewer paying strict attention.

There's a climactic battle between the berserker and the bear that might remind you of the zombie-shark fight in
Zombie, in that neither participant looks like they're exactly giving it their all. And the cover art is extremely cool , if you can ignore Zippy the Dog-Faced Boy in the bottom half. Nothing really to see here.
