THE GODSEND
From Golan/Globus, so you know it's quality

I know a film has failed to maintain my attention when I find myself playing Carcass riffs on my bass halfway through the film. I know it's REALLY failed when I find myself doing that fifteen minutes in.

A happy English family takes in a pregnant woman who promptly squeezes out the kid and, lacking much in the way of a maternal instinct, disappears. Starting from infancy, this kid basically kills every other child in the family,
Omen-style, and the parents take about six years (and three dead kids)to figure that out.

Most definitely not one of the more inspired "the devil among us" movies I've seen. Performances are rather limp all around, the writing does nothing, the direction adequate but nothing more. It leaves the impression of a quickie put together to cash in on that devil thing that was big at the time. Oh wait, it WAS a quickie put together to cash in on that devil thing that was big at the time. Silly me.

Great box art, though. Directed by Gabrielle Beaumont, who has created quite the legacy of crap with movies like Beastmaster III.
