Merry Christmas to you!

Who said you can't make a perfect apple pie with
delicious apples?    I live in Alaska and
for many years they were the only type we could buy.

Apple Pie
oven 375
enough pastry for a double crust

seven or eight red  delicious apples (I like to
heap a large pie pan so I use as many as I need to
do it)
1/2 to 3/4 cup of  granulated sugar
(depending on how sweet you like your pie)
2 TBS. flour
1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon depending on your taste
dash of nutmeg (be careful because nutmeg can
over power the whole pie)
dash of salt
2 TBS. butter
Pare the apples and slice (not as thin as you
would tart apples)
Mix all the ingredients together except the butter.
Place bottom crust in pan and fill with the apple
mixture.  Dot with butter and place the top
crust on the pie.  Cut a few vent holes.  Bake about
50 minutes or until the pie is golden brown.
* I like to add cinnamon and sugar to my pie crust.

For tart apples use six or seven.  Slice thin.  use 3/4 to
1 cup of sugar.

Come sit under my Mistletoe
