The Million Dollar Hotel adalah proyek film Bono yang telah dikerjakan sejak awal 90an. Di sini, Bono menjadi penulis naskah bersama Nicolas Klein. Dibintangi oleh Jeremy Davies (sebagai Tom Tom), Milla Jovovich (Eloise), mel Gibson (Detective Skinner) dan Jimmy Smits (Geronimo), film independen ini disutradarai oleh Wim Wenders yang dikenal dengan film 'Wings of Desire' (dengan sambungannya, 'Faraway, So Close') yang menjadi inspirasi film 'City of Angels' yang dibintangi Nicolas Cage dan Meg Ryan.

Untuk pemerhati film eropa atau film independen, film ini merupakan film yang menarik dengan sinematografi yang apik. Kalau dilihat jalan ceritanya memang cukup lama, namun banyak sekali unsur menarik dari tiap karakter. Tentu saja unsur musik sangat menonjol dalam film ini. Para kritikus mengakui bahwa tata musik dalam film ini sangat bagus. Dan jangan lupa, Bono juga sempat melakukan cameo di film ini meski hanya beberapa detik dan tidak bicara apa-apa.

Kalau kamu jeli, hotel ini telah kamu lihat di video klip "Where The Streets Have No Name" (Joshua Tree). Setelah pembuatan video tersebut, Bono langsung berniat membuat film hotel murah itu.
