Set in a bustling cockney street market, this soap followed the lifes on the stall holders

The series was originally titled 'Market in Honey Lane' but this was changed to the above name in September 1968 when it went a twice weekly afteroon serial.

Details

The show went out on Mondays and Wednesdays in the afternoon.
The series was created by Louis Marks and produced by John Cooper.
The afternoon episodes of Honey Lane replaced another soap called Driveway.
The reason 'Market in Honey Lane' was changed into a soap (orginally a series) was because ATV tried to boost its popularity.
Some ITV companies showed the soap episodes late at night.

i dont know if these posts go to anyone but anyway. i had, in the back of my mind, a memory of a programme with the theme of a london market stall. i am now 46 and after asking my mother she also had faint recollections of it.
we had left the name of the prog. as market place but something just did not ring true. on one of many drunken nights out i brought this into conversation in my local pub and immediately someone jumped in. the only clue i had was billy bush (aka the medical officer in one episode of porridge) it was of course honey lane.
