This was ITV's answer to the BBC's The Grove Family. The Armstrongs had the same number of children, two boys and two girls.
The farther had just opened a furniture shop to set up on his own while the mother was a bit of a scatter-brain, but ment well.

The creator/writer R F Delderfield, wrote the show from his cottage in Budleigh Salterton in Devon.
The Armstrongs appeared on the front cover of the TV Times Feb 17-Feb 25 issue 1956 when the series first started.
