Hello all,
'River City' is an excellent soap. Its not just your ordinary soap. It has
humour, suspense, excitement.....I could go on. 'River City' has the x factor, that other soaps do not have. It is unique and keeps on getting better and better. The quality of most of the actors is superb, especially the younger actors and actresses who have just begun their careers. They have got the chance of a lifetime, and it is a great start for them. I will most definately keep on watching for many years to come. Thank you 'River City' for providing us with some great entertainment over the past two and a half years! It just improves by the episode. Keep up the good work!

The strength of the show lies in the fact that it is a soap that is character led , not situation led with ever more impossible story lines. The scripts are strong because the show boasts an impressive array of writers, many of them with award-winning individual credits. This is along the American model ,writer-led and all the stronger for it . As with many projects of this kind it has taken some time to bed in and to grab the public imagination. This is now firmly in place and ,as long as those men in suits keep the faith and retain the vision of River City's conception we should emerge with a product we'll all be proud of. Please don't panic or we'll end up no better than Crossroads, sinking under the weight of ever more sensationalist plots and unbelievable characters.

Although River City is filmed in Dumbarton, it is not set there, so why should they mention it???? It's set around the Partick area of Glasgow. The set is not near the river so why would they show it, you do see the boatyard. It's about the people living nearlby not the actual river.

My birth name was Ida Schuster. Now, I'm Ida Warshay.
Can you tell me how to get in touch with your Ida Schuster, who plays Lily Fraser on River City. Also, can you tell me if it's been picked up in the United States or Canada (I live in a border town and pick up CBC and sometimes TVO).
Thank you,
Ida (Schuster) Warshay - 24/03/03
I don't find it very fair, that River City has been filmed in the town of Dumbarton but there hasn't been any thing about Dumbarton on the show.I would also like to put across to you - Where is the river? The programme is called River City but i haven't saw the river yet.
