WEIRD ENGLISH AND STRANGE WORDS...
Sometimes the English have a way of saying things which is a little strange.......
'Over the Moon'
We say this if we are really happy about something..
'I am over the moon Friends In English is going so well....
There is a childrens nursery rhyme..
Hey diddle diddle,
The cat and the Fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such fun, and the dish ran away with the spoon!!

Like many childrens rhymes it does not make a whole lot of sense!! But the cow jumped over the moon and it was 'fun'.
So we say this when something is really good.
'Until the cows come home'
This we say when we are contented and like what we are doing.
'I could sit and sew until the cows come home'
The wives of farmers used to sit outside the houses and sew or read and when it was getting dark the cows would be brought into fields closer to the farm for safety.
When the cows started coming home the wife knew it was going to be too dark soon to do what they were doing.
THIS PAGE TAKING A LOT OF THINKING ABOUT AND WILL BE BUILT BIT BY BIT EVERY DAY.
