Life in Taiwan with May Lai |
I don't know how much you know about my country, Taiwan. My country is named 'Republic of China' (born 1912). (born in 1912).We are different from Mainland China. Our governments are different and have feelings of hostility for a long time. Because we had warred from1945 to 1949. Afterward my goverment failed and escaped to the island- Taiwan.I must tell you the history sooner or later .Because it is related to the point of this e-mail. Today I'd like to introduce the special museum in Taipei--the National Palace Museum...Here is the picture from the website: The collections in the museum are very plentiful such as old Chinese paintings, potteries, jades,Chinese calligraphy...and so on.All of these things belonged to Chinese emperors previously. They were brought from Mainland China in 1949 after the war I mentioned. And now they are treasures to the world. On some holidays, I like to visit the Museum with my children. I think when we appreciate the collections ,we are like the emperor. In the Museum you can learn Chinese culture and art.So if you come to Taiwan , don't forget this place!Or you can visit the website: http://www.npm.gov.tw/english/index-e.htm I hope you could understand and like the description of the Museum.I 've done my best .If you have any opinions, please let me know.I'll be glad . As I know, our members come from many countries like Turkey,Thailand, Vietnam ,Indonesia,Malaysia, Brazil, Slovenia...and Britain,I'm curious about your countries and cultures. So please talk about it .I'll share it with my children and my students. See you soon May Taipei Taiwan |
