Kappa Alpha Theta was founded at Depaw University in 1870. Theta is one of the largest in the Greek community with more than 120 chapters. Theta was founded for the purpose if intellectual ambition for the highest scholarship, social aim for the highest influence of good, and moral aim for the highest standard of love. The Gamma Iota chapter at the University of Kentucky was established in 1945. The main goal of Theta is to nurture the members throughout college and beyond. Theta provides sisterhood, unity, belonging, security, loyalty, and especially love. Theta aims to provide experiences to develop self-esteem, self-respect, and self-confidence that members can carry for a life-time. |
