This story was written for and published in the 1999 Convention Anthology. When I saw the steep slopes of the mountains around Lake Tahoe, I wondered what would have happened if the Cartwright boys were caught in an Avalanche.
Hoss, Adam and Joe are out hunting. After a long winter restricted to the ranch, they've become sick of being with one another. Then, when they are caught in the clutches of a deadly Avalanche, they have to rely on each other to survive.
