The Ultimate Sports Grillers lost 1-0 to the Brainerd Bees on a windy Tuesday night at Saint John's University in their final Lakewood League game of the season. The game was being made up due to a rainout on May 18th. The Grillers managed just five hits in the game, all singles, by Mike Holman, Jason Kotschevar, Brent Schloe, Andy Waletzko, and Jason Wald. Ultimate had the tying run on third and winning run on second in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs, but Paul Eich's line drive was hit directly at the left fielder for the final out of the game. Chad Schwegel picked up the tough-luck loss on the mound, just his second of the season, after pitching all nine innings, scattering nine hits, one walk, and seven strikeouts. The Grillers finished their 2005 Lakewood League schedule with a 9-5 record.
