Game Summary

The Ultimate Sports Grillers defeated the Minneapolis Cobras 9-4 on a hot and windy Sunday afternoon in their third and final game of the 2005 Nick Bell Classic.  Ultimate took advantage of 10 Cobra walks and pounded out eight hits on their way to the victory.  Jason Kotschevar was the only Griller to have multiple hits, finishing 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.  Andy Waletzko finished with two RBIs as well and Mike Holman scored twice.  Seven different Grillers scored at least one run and six had at least one RBI.  Aaron Rocheleau picked up his third victory of the season on the mound, going five innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits, seven walks, and four strikeouts.

The Grillers scored quickly again in the first when Kotschevar singled home Holman for a 1-0 lead.  The Cobras took the lead 2-1 after two innings, but the Grillers came back with two more in the third.  Andy Waletzko hit a ground ball to the shortstop with the bases loaded, but beat out the attempted double play turn.  Kotschevar scored from third on the play as did Brent Schloe from second when the first baseman stumbled after stretching on the throw to first.  Ultimate scored six more times in the fourth on just three hits as the Cobra pitching had five walks in that inning alone.  Kotschevar had a bases loaded walk to score Lincoln Haugen; Schloe hit a sacrifice fly to score Brent Putz; Rocheleau singled to score Holman; Waletzko singled to score Kotschevar; Jason Wald walked to score Rocheleau; and Lincoln Haugen grounded out to score Waletzko and make the score 9-2.  Minneapolis would score two more times in the bottom of the fifth, but neither team scored the remainder of the game.
