The Ultimate Sports Grillers came back from a 10-day layoff with a 6-1 victory over the Sauk Centre Titans at Saints Field in Elrosa on Wednesday night. Ultimate pounded out 11 hits in the game, led by Casey Haugen, who went 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Andy Waletzko and Ryan Quinn both doubled and finished 2-for-4. Waletzko scored twice and Quinn scored once and drove in a run. Chad Schwegel picked up the complete game victory, allowing one unearned run, scattering seven hits, walking two, and striking out three.
The Grillers scored first in the top of the second inning on a bases loaded groundout by Brent Putz that plated Waletzko. Ultimate struck for three more in the fourth inning on an RBI-double by Mike Holman that scored Quinn and a 2-run single by Haugen that scored Putz and Holman. In the fifth, Jason Wald doubled home Waletzko to make the score 5-1. Sauk Centre scored their lone run in the eighth and the Grillers added one more insurance run in the ninth on an RBI-single by Quinn that scored Aaron Rocheleau.
