After already playing a game on Sunday, the Grillers had to travel to Bob Cross Field in Sauk Rapids to host the Cyclones in a Lakewood League game that was being made up from a June 29th rainout. The Grillers were the home team despite playing in Sauk Rapids due to field availability at the MAC. The Grillers won the game 12-6 due in large part to the team collecting 19 hits at the plate. Brent Schloe led the offense, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored, and three RBIs. Aaron Rocheleau hit his first home run of the season and as a Griller, a three-run shot in the second inning, and finished with 4 RBIs in the game. Jason Kotschevar went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and Andy Waletzko, Jason Wald, and Paul Eich each had two hits in the game. Eich also picked up his second straight win on the mound, going 6 1/3 innings while allowing six runs on seven hits, five walks, and five strikeouts.
After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first, the Grillers got one back in the bottom of the inning on Rocheleau's ground ball to short that allowed Kotschevar to score from third. The Grillers scored six times in the second on seven consecutive hits. Lincoln Haugen singled; Eich singled; Brent Putz singled to score Haugen; Casey Haugen singled to score Eich; Kotschevar singled to load the bases; Schloe singled to score pinch runner Chad Schwegel; and then Rocheleau hit his home run, a line drive to left, to score Kotschevar, Schloe, and himself and make the score 7-2. Ultimate scored five more times in the sixth on a two-run double by Schloe that scored Dick Henkemeyer and Casey Haugen, an RBI-single by Waletzko that scored Schloe and then Rocheleau after an error by the left fielder, and an RBI-single by Wald to score Waletzko. The Cyclones would take advantage of wild Griller pitching in the top of the seventh and score four times on two hits, four walks, and a hit batter to make the score 12-6, but that's how the score would remain over the final two innings.
