Dirty 38 are tryin to follow in the footsteps of Nappy Roots to become the second big rap group outta Kentucky. The 5 man group from Louisville consist of Gangsta Black, DJ Bam, Scotty, Louigi, & Bodie M.C. Their new album drops on Swolle Records.

1. Intro

2. Get Up-- this track has a party vibe good feelin, get up and dance beat. Dirty 38 rep for the Bluegrass State on this song that would make a good single for the clubs. Decent effort to start the album off with.

3. Represent-- this track has a shifty, synthesizer beat. Dirty 38 claims to rep for those locked up in the pen or for the junkies on the corner. Nice catchy hook and good song overall worth checkin out.

4. Roll Deep-- this track has a blended piano keyboard and horns blaring beat. Dirty 38 comes with verses keepin it real on the streets because they are real OG's. Tight cut here.

5. Outlaws-- this track has a midtempo beat with strings and snares bumpin. Dirty 38 come with decent flows on the mic. The R&B hook adds a lot to the song as well. Good solid cut.

6. Fiends-- the hook on this one goes "be careful when you fuckin with fiends - be about your paper hands on the green - young paper chasers out for the cheese - hoes be jockin but they fall to their knees - cause we rollin young thugs, hustlers, and OG's". Tight ass song.

7. Tops Down-- this track has a laid back R&B "Step In The Name Of Love" type beat. Dirty 38 raps about ridin in the hood in the droptop Vette sittin on Lorenzo's. Not feelin it too much.

8. Swolle-- "Niggas try to ride on our block and get swolle - niggas paperchase across the nation get dough - niggas if you blazin don't bring nothin but that dro - playa why you hatin cause we got the block sold". Good infectious beat will have ya head bouncin. Nice song.

9. Get Out Of Jail-- this track has a nice Indian beat that is similar to Aaliyah's "Try Again" with a tight bassline. Dirty 38 rap about doin all kinds of dope fresh after gettin out of the pen. Tight cut.

10. Fallin Off Into The Club-- Dirty 38 is bringin the rapid fire delivery on the first and third verse which borders on tongue twistin. The hook is catchy as hell and would make a great radio and club single. Tight song.

11. All Day Thugin-- mediocre beat on this one. The rappin on this one isn't much better either. Just not much here. Skip it.

12. Trust-- this track has a nice synthesizer, space age pimpin beat. Dirty 38 rap about doin everything for themselves and being selfish because no one ever helped them out. Nice cut.

13. Look In My Eyes-- this track has a piano laced beat over hi-hats. Dirty 38 raps about not having anything coming up and to top that off, it seems like the government is against the black community. Therefore, niggas tend to end up hustlin because it's the only way to get paid. Not feelin this one too much.

14. Table Dance-- this song is an ode to the thicky thick strippers that give the lapdances and table dances for that $20. This is one of those songs that would make Too Short proud.

15. On My Team-- this track has a piano laced beat over a snare bassline. Dirty 38 is rappin to the girls to see if they wanna join their "team" and whether they are "1st string or 3rd string" girls. Decent cut but there are definitely better songs on the album.

16. Act Like An Asshole-- this track is about those cheatin hoes that be freakin around on their men and exposing their secrets instead of keepin it on the down low. Not feelin it too much.

17. Outro

Overall, the production on the album is decent. Kentucky rap will always be stereotyped as the "country boy" style as long as Nappy Roots keep makin moves nationally, but Dirty 38 breaks the mold and sticks with more of a gangsta style. There's a lot of nice songs on the album so there's definitely potential for something big from Dirty 38 down the road.
