San Diego's own is back with his AMC released album "Crip Hop". It took a while for this album to come out due to his disputes with Def Jam. A few songs on this album were recorded during the Def Jam days. This is one of my favoirte West Coast albums. I love the beats and his flow. All West Coast rap fans should pick this one up.

1. Intro- The intro has a tight beat. He refers to little fake thugs as being gangsta's and they need to check themselves.

2. Gang Bangin' Shit- Spice 1 is featured over the Rick Rock produced. This is a nice song but it's kinda short. Jayo & Spice spit nice verses over this one.

3. One Shit Kill- Theirs really nothing to go crazy of this track. Jayo just talks about how he is a one shit shoota. The beat is generic also.

4. Girls & Boys- This track features Tiggi Diamonds. Not many know who he is, but he worked with some the Def Jam artist. He and Jayo does a good job on this track with a tight beat. This could of been hit single.

5. What You Need- Once again Jayo gives us a nice flow and good lyrics on this track. The beat kinda sounds like something from the old days but works well with the song.

6. True'd Up (Remix)- Last year everyone knew he beefed with Jay-Z and threw out True'd up (the original version) on Bullet Proof Love Vol.1. This version sounds better than the original one. It also features Du Lo Gang member Baby Skar who throws jabs at Jay-Z, Bleek, Beanie, & Amil (I guess she is referred). Jayo's first verse stays the same but he changes the third verse and he comes out hard on this one.

7. Swing- I heard this back in 1999 back when he was on Def Jam. This is one of my favorite songs on the albums. He raps different than what he usually does and the chorus sounds like Shyne's Bad Boyz. The beat by is sick also.

8. Skit 1 (Skit)- no comment

9. Hurt That Nigga- Another one of my favoirte songs on the album. We got Soopafly rappin' and producin' this cut. I think Soopafly stole the show on this one with his tight flow. Jayo still comes off nice on here.

10. Skit 11 (skit)- no comment

11. Do You Love Life- Mr. Felony's flow is off balanced on this one but the lyrics are coo. He's talkin' about everyone lovin' life and lovin' who you with.

12. Please Believe It- This track is nice. Jayo raps really fast on this one. Then we got E-40 on the last verse. They both talk shit after their verses (blah blah blah).

13. Sherm Stick 111- This is my least favorite track on the album. The song is relaxing and smooth but doesn't work for me. Other may like it though.

14. Hotta Than Fish Grease- Hotta Than Fish Grease resembles Whatcha Gonna Do. Jayo uses the same producer, DJ Silk on this tight ass track. Jayo and Du-Lo Gang's Crook use corny lyrics on this one but it works well with the song. It may give you laugh on after a listen.

15. Catch Em' In The Morning (Gay-Z Diss)- Jayo was not gonna finish this album unless he gets at Jay-Z. The beat is hard but the diss is kinda wack. I do feel he was treated wrong in Def Jam. He accuses Jay-Z of having him being released from Def Jam. He also talks about how he helped Sigel & Bleek out in the rap game. Jayo is not a good battle rapper.

16. You'z A Character (Snoop Dogg Diss)- "This one's for yo boy, Snoop Doggy Dogg". The fight over the term "Crip Hop" started the beef. To me tha'ts B's, it was stupid for Jayo to cry about who made up "Crip Hop". The diss to Snoop doesn't work well and you see how Snoop didn't make to comment to Jayo on any song (that I know of). Skip this track.

17. Came Round- Oh my god you feel this song from the opening second. The beat is straight gangsta and the Du Lo Gang drop off some dope ass rhymes and lyrics. Jayo gives us one of his best verses of all time on this one. This song is about how niggaz are here one second and then gone the next.

18. C-Walk & Skip- This song has a little oriental beat to it. Jayo just talkin' shit about his life and throws a jab at DJ Clue- "Ride on my foes while DJ Clue gets fucked in the ass". Cool song but not the best.

19. She Loves Me- Jayo gets friendly on this one and also letting his 7-year old nephew Young Nube sing the hook. Another song that he could of used to be a single and get a little exposure from casual rap fans. It's a good song but I don't play it that much.

I love this album. It stays in my CD player a lot. His lyrics are above average but on his second album "Whatcha Gonna Do" his lyrics were up there. Still he is one of the most underrated West Coast artist out there. I hope more people check him out. He got skills. Peace Out!
