Jermaine Dupri - Instructions

Album Rate: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

ATL's producer, JD throws out his 2nd LP Instructions. Of course you'll expect the same things from JD: a load of guest appearances, braggin', & a bunch of party tracks. True Hip Hop fans will definately pass this one up but mainstream rap lovers will pick this one up.

1. Intro- Straight took the interlude off of Pete Rock's Tru Master.

2. Welcome to Atlanta f/Ludacris- Nice hit off of this album. Song got lots of radio play, & Luda & JD threw out some nice verses.

3. Money, Hoes, & Power f/UGK, Pimpin' Ken and Manuel Seal- This anotha hot song and its also on the UGK's Dirty Money album. Bun B thorws out the best verse while Manuel Seal sings the hook.

4. The Dream (interlude)

5. Get Some f/Usher, R.O.C., Boo & Gotti- Short track here but a good one. Boo & Gotti throw decent verses followed by JD and his man R.O.C. I like the beat on this one also and Usher does a good job singin' the chorus.

6. Hate (interlude)

7. Hate Blood f/Jadakiss & Freeway- Jermaine is screamin' out to all the haters. He says people hate cuz he has Ho's, Money, Ice, & Cars. A really angry side from J.D. Jadakiss ripped the fuck out of his verse while Freeway's is on the hook. Freeway's voice sounds worse on this one.

8. Ballin' Out Of Control f/Nate Dogg- Dope Beat by JD and he uses the master of the hooks, Nate Dogg on this one. Another club anthem here.

9. Supafly f/Bilal- Kind of a laid back crusin' track here. A lot of people like Bilal but I hate his voice. I usually listen to this song once in a while.

10. Instructions (interlude)

11. Rules of the game f/Manish Man- This track is just about puttin' hoes in they place. I think we heard enough about that from J.D. you think.

12. Prada bab (interlude)

13. Whatever f/Tigah, R.O.C., Nate Dogg, Trey Lorenz, Skeeter Rock, & Katrina- My favorite track on the album. It's about girls who got they guys back. Everyone drops tight verses here, bang dis at a party.

14. Let's Talk About It f/Clipse- Here's somethin' that JD didn't produce. The Neptue track also features Virginians The Clipse which is an alright cut. I don't listen to it that much. *Also on Lord Willin'.

15. Yours & Mine f/Jagged- J.D. got his R&B successful crew up in here and Swizz is on the track. It's kind of a boring track but some people may like it.

16. Jazzy Hoe's Part 2 f/Kurupt, Too $hort, Field Mob, Backbone & Eddie Cain- This is a coo laid back track. Too $hort is talkin' shit, J.D. is on the chorus, Kurupt raps about being obsessed with Beyonce, Janet, J-Lo, etc., Field Mob & Eddie Cain do a good job on thier verses, & Backbone comes off nice with his nice laid back flow.

17. Hot Mama (interlude)

18. You Bring The Freak Out of Me f/Da Brat & Kandi- This is a freaky track here. If you and your girl loves to get freaky than listen to it together. The Beat is tight, Da Brat comes of nice and J.D. is the usual. Kandi on the hook also.

19. The Morning After (interlude)

20. Rock With Me f/Xscape- Has a little old school fellin' to it with a piano theme, but I'm not fellin' it.

Overall it's a good album for crusin' and parties, but if you want to check out lyrics you won't get nothin' out of it. J.D. just brags on what he has. He's a good producer and has a pretty good flow. I mainly got the album for the guest appearances, they all shine. The annoying part of the album is there are too many interludes.
