Album Rate: 3.75 out of 5 Stars

Smoke Dogg hails from the 9th Ward in New Orleans. His new 16 track album features the likes of Rambo & Quee.

1. Intro

2. Back Up Offa Me (f/ Rambo)-- this track has a laid back funky beat. Rambo starts it off with a decent verse in his deeper barotone voice. Smoke Dogg has a couple of nice verses in his N.O. slanguage. Definite No Limit influence on the track and they end it off with shout outs to the different housing projects in New Orleans.

3. Bread-- this track has a just a really simple beat with a simple bassline. Smoke Dogg is just talkin about trying to get ahead in life with this music thing after growing up with nothing. The hook goes "I need bread/more bread than money/I need more dough and that ain't funny". Smoke Dogg comes with a nice flow on this one.

4. Pro-- this track has a bouncy type beat with a few sound effects mixed in. Smoke Dogg is talkin about droppin a few niggas like a professional hitman would. He gives you a hint of a faster flow but not quite a tongue twisting performance.

5. Heard What I Said-- this track has a lot of horns in it and a faster bassline. Smoke Dogg reps New Orleans and comes with the bling-bling lyrics about cars and ice but with a Jamaican feel.

6. Wiggle-- this track has a midtempo piano laced beat with horns. Smoke Dogg is comin to the mic with a typical bounce, shake ya ass type track. It sounds like a cross between "Wobble Wobble" & "Choppa Style" performed in a piano bar.

7. Da Glass-- this track has a nice clean simple beat. Smoke Dogg raps about fuckin his girl. The catchy chorus goes "I really like it girl how you was movin them hips/movin them lips/makin them chips/makin them tips/bouncin ya ass/swingin ya breasts/catchin the wall/touchin da glass/touchin da glass".

8. Lil Brotha-- this track has a slower R&B type beat. Smoke Dogg is talkin about smoking weed and getting high to ease the pain of his lil bro's death. It's a nice heartfelt track that a lot of people will relate to.

9. Can't Be Alone (f/ Quee)-- this track has a Oriental/Far East sound on the beats. The hook on this by is sung by Quee and it will make your ears bleed. Smoke Dogg does a decent job on the mic though to somewhat salvage the song.

10. Job Search (skit)

11. I'm Chillin-- this track has a funky blues guitar and lots of brass on the beats. Smoke Dogg talks about just hangin out and not doing a damn thing but trying to fuck hoes. The hook is sung by Smoke Dogg and goes "I'm chillin smokin a blunt and not worryin about a God damn thing".

12. Wild Wiggadee (A-Oh)-- this track has a midtempo beat that sounds like something you'd hear on a video game. The hook is a little corny on this one. Smoke Dogg is just talking bout partying and trying to hook up different women.

13. Ya Too Close To Me-- this track sounds like something you'd get if you crossed No Limit and Cash Money Records. The hook goes "Get off me bitch/ya standing too close to me/stop ackin like you know me/get off me bitch/I'm bout to start a fuckin riot". Smoke Dogg does come with a tight flow on this one.

14. He's Da Man-- this track has a symphonic beat with deep basslines. Smoke Dogg spits about how he's the shit and how he's got his pick of any woman he wants. The chorus is done in a lazy sing-songy flow and goes "I keep on tellin you that he's da man/I keep on tellin you/I keep on tellin you."

15. Call Me Up-- this track has simple R&B type beat. Smoke Dogg raps in a faster tempo and raps about hollering at a woman when her man is gone. The song ends up being a relationship type track about how to treat a woman.

16. Outro

Overall, the album has decent production by Smoke Dogg and will probably be better on his next effort. The album is full of bumpable tracks but there's nothing that stands out as that one tight ass song. It's a good start for Smoke Dogg's career and a nice effort on this one. But like I said, full of bumpable tracks but nothing that just jumps out at you.
