T-Rock - Conspiracy Theory

Album Rate: 4.25 out of 5 Stars

T-Rock, the former member of Hypnotize Camp Posse, finally releases a solo although it is a hard-to-find album unless you live in the Atlanta or Memphis areas. T-Rock brings the same lyrical heat that he brought to numerous Hypnotize Minds/Three 6 Mafia albums on this 17-track release.

1. Intro

2. Here It Is-- T-Rock is flowing over a nice beat but the song gets kinda tired halfway through it.

3. Blood In Blood Out-- Again, T-Rock is flowing his ass off over a mediocre beat.

4. Let The Hammer Go-- this is a tight song. T-Rock is bringin the heat on this song. He is rappin about killin and asks "how the barrel tastes when I let the hammer go"

5. What U Know (f/ Kingpin Skinny Pimp & Wylecat)-- another tight song. Kingpin Skinny Pimp drops a tight verse as does Wylecat.

6. I'm In It-- this song is OK. Nothing really stands out on this track beat-wise but T-Rock is continuing to flow his ass off.

7. Mary Jane (f/ Area 51)-- this is one of the tightest songs on the album. I had never hear Area 51 before but they show skills and got me anticipatin their album.

8. Benz & Lac (f/ Odd 1)-- another tight song. T-Rock flows over a pretty tight beat. Odd 1 ain't that bad a rapper but nothing makes him stand out from any other Southern rapper.

9. Nigga 4 Da Job-- this song reminds me of the old Three 6 Mafia songs with the simple generic hooks. Nothing special about this track.

10. Mr. Big Man-- this is another tight track and the first time he addresses the situation between he and Three 6 Mafia. He never calls DJ Paul out by name but he does mention that once he became rich, he forgot about all those who helped get him there. He also called him "commercial rapper" and a "member of the sell-out instiution." At the end, T-Rock encourages all those still in HCP to do their independent thing and to leave and let DJ Paul "stand on his on 10 toes." Solid track lyrically.

11. Look Deep In Da Eyes-- T-Rock is tongue-twistin on this track. It's really a nice track.

12. What U Doing 4 It (f/ J-Love)-- another solid track. T-Rock continues to bring it on the mic over a heavy bass beat.

13. Make A Scene (f/ C.I.A.)-- this song is OK. Not that great compared to some of the other songs on this album.

14. Da Ghetto (f/ Chilly Rakin)-- the beat on this song sounds like something I've heard before but I can't place it. Chilly Rakin sings in between T-Rock's verses.

15. No Remorse-- this is a pretty nice track. T-Rock comes close to tongue twistin on parts of this song.

16. International Terrorists (f/ C.I.A., Wylecat, Miss T, Da Crime-Clic, Area 51, II Tone, & 240 North)-- this is one of the tightest tracks on the album. The beat is a little lacking but it's terrible. This got me to thinking that this would have made a great HCP track.

17. Outro

Overall, T-Rock is very solid lyrically. There are some nice guest appearances as well. The beats could use some work, but then again, I knew that production and beat-wise, this album would not match anything that DJ Paul & Juicy J would bring to the table. But T-Rock shows why he was one of the most under-rated members of HCP and why he deserved a solo release. I recommend this album to anyone who is a T-Rock fan.
