On the morning of September 11th, 2001, numerous police officers, firefighters, rescue workers, and even the WTC and Pentagon security officers were going about their business as a normal day. Until 8:45 when the first hijacked airliner, American Airlines Flight 11, crashed into the North tower of the World Trade Center. The first attack of 3.
About 18 minutes later a second airliner, UNITED Airlines Flight 175,  hit the South tower of the World Trade Center. The third attack was on the Pentagon at about 9:40am, American Airlines Flight 77. And what had appeared to start as an ordinary day, would now be recorded as the day when the worst terror attack on US soil occurred claiming thousands of innocent lives.
The people who are sworn to protect and serve were called to help save thousands of lives. And even put their own lives in danger in the process. Which they did without thinking twice about it.
Before September 11th little kids looked up to Superman and Batman as real heros, but as of September 12th the new superheros were the men and women in uniform.
To the many people who put their lives on the line to help save the victims of the 9/11 attacks, Thank You.
