EARLY BIRD RATE OF $250 EXTENDED UNTIL June 31, 2002The United States, Canada, & Caribbean (USCC) Rotaract Conference is a regional event held once a year organized by a host committee. The host committee is selected each year by preparing a bid presentation and presenting at the previous conference. This past July, the Rotaract Club of San Jacinto College North (Rotary District 5890) and St. Edward’s University (Rotary District 5870) won the bid at USCC 2001 in Washington, D.C. The purpose of USCC 2002 is centered on making contact with clubs in our region. We currently have 405 Rotaract Clubs in the United States, Canada, & Caribbean. Our goal is to have 200 participants to attend our conference on July, 25-28, 2002. The objective is to create a Multidistrict Information Organization (MDIO) dedicated to maintaining contact even after our conference is finished. MDIOs function as regional offices of information and resources for Rotaractors. They are comprised of Rotaract clubs in two or more districts, within a country or encompassing several countries. MDIOs are formed for the purpose of disseminating information and facilitating communication among Rotaract clubs in the participating districts. Over the last ten years, Rotaract MDIOs have been a driving force in enhancing communication and promoting Rotaract awareness and growth in many regions of the world. USCC 2002 will also provide regional leadership training for all Rotaractors. Rotaractors are future Rotarians and will learn how to be the leaders of tomorrow today. The conference will include an open Forum and various workshops to further develop Rotary’s mission to promote goodwill, peace, and international understanding. Participants are limited to the USCC region. If you are interested in attending, you may attend Rotary Zone 22 and Zone 27 Rotaract Conference on "Youth, Leadership & Sustainable Development" at Hamilton, Ontario, Canada or INTEROTA in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
