US 430 was an original 1926 route, but it was very short-lived.
This first photo below shows the junction of modern-day IL hwy. 31
and US 14:

Back in 1926, these roads would've had an at-grade intersection,
but this is where the north end of US 430 would've been.
Maps from then show US 430 routed down to Aurora. The designation
would've ended at the spot shown below:

That's looking south on IL 31 at Galena Boulevard, upon which US
30 was routed at the time. The shot below is looking the opposite
direction, at what would've been the south beginning of US 430...

...that is, if the highway was ever signed all the way to
Aurora. Maps from the following year (1927) show the south end at US
330 in Geneva. This next shot is looking south on IL 31 (historic US
430) at IL 38 (historic US 330):

what was the south beginning of US 430:

Apparently at some point the US 430 designation was extended north
of Crystal Lake to end at US 12 just south of Richmond. This is the
same intersection where IL 31 ends today (below):

This last shot is looking south from US 12 at the modern north
beginning of IL 31, and at the historic north beginning of US
430:
