US 541 wasn't commissioned until 1932, and it existed for only about 20 years.
Its original north end was in Tampa (at the intersection of Florida Avenue and
Hillsborough Avenue, from what I've been told). The photo below is looking north
at that intersection:

Hillsborough is US 92, so US 541 ended here at this junction. But after two
years, US 541 was extended a bit further north, to the point where today's Business
US 41 ends at mainline US 41 (near Chapman Lake). The photo below is looking
south on US 41:

The north beginning of US 541 was on what is now signed as
Business 41.
The south end of US 541 was in Palmetto FL. The photo below shows
the current signage at the former terminus:

You can see the guy at left holding a custom historic US 541
shield. Robert had that specially manufactured, and he had the sign
temporarily posted at the historic terminus:

Both photos are looking south on 8th Avenue West (today's Business
