The current south end of US 119 at Pineville was first the south end of US
23, and then the south end of US 123 [I]. That route was swallowed up by an
extension of US 119 in 1934, and this junction has marked the south end of that
route ever since. There was not a standard "End" sign there, but the photo below
shows the unusual sign that was posted approaching the junction with US 25E:

That was still up when I was there in 2007 (actually, I think there are two:
one on each side of the road). Signage at the actual terminus appears thus:

From northbound US 25E, the south beginning of US 119 is marked like this:

To the right used to be the south beginning of US 123[I], and before that,
the south beginning of US 23 (briefly).
