US 168 was an original 1926 route. Its east terminus was in Mt.
Vernon KY; you can view photos from there on this
page. The west endpoint was in Louisville
(you can view photos from there on this
page). The route lasted only about 8 years: in 1934, US 150 was extended
eastward, and it swallowed up the entirety of what had been US 168.
