Since 1979, the west end of US 190 is at a godforsaken spot in Pecos County
TX, at I-10's interchange 307, about 14 miles west of Iraan. No "End" sign was
present - only these two signs giving you your options at I-10:
#1 Nitzman,
Jan. 2006
Note at far right is an "East US 190" sign for travelers exiting from westbound
I-10. The frontside of the assembly at far left is shown in photo #6, below.
But first, let's see what's ahead, on the far side of the bridge over I-10:

That's where westbound US 190 actually ends. (The frontside of the signs at
far left are shown in photo #5, below.) The crossroad is not only an on- and
off-ramp for I-10; it's also a two-way frontage road... which seems like overkill,
way out here in the vastness of the Trans-Pecos (but I guess that's the standard
for Texas freeways). You can see the frontage road running along the right side
of the photo below:

That's from eastbound I-10 (Alex sent that photo because it was the only approach
sign that specifically mentioned US 190). After you exit to the frontage road,
the sign directing you to the west beginning of US 190 looks like this:
#4 Nitzman,
Jan. 2006
(That post is visible in photo #2 above, behind the "Ozona" sign.)
Upon turning that direction, the first reassurance marker is posted:
#5
Nitzman, Jan. 2006
(The sign at far left is the "Ozona" sign visible in photo #2.) On
the other side of the overpass are two more sets of reassurance markers, along
with an expansive view of the westernmost mileage of US 190:

At far left is the backside of the I-10 assembly shown in photo #1. The sign
in the distance says "Speed Limit 70", which is faster than rural
interstate highways in some other states.
