Wilburton 206-7 Fenstanton clinched second place with this victory over 8 man Wilburton,but it was a struggle after a poor fielding display by Fenstanton.Andy Taylor bowled the first ball of the match and it was thumped for six.Andy Hazelwood. 0-42 and Andy Taylor, 2-44 ,were not at their best and Roger Mitchell and Sean Gifford were soon in action.Wilburton were batting well and were 107-2 off 20 overs. Sean took 3-63 and Roger 0-40 with Al Baillie taking the other wicket and running the last man out after a brilliant piece of fielding by Dom Reynolds,but Wilburton still managed to reach the 200 mark We soon lost Justin for 3,but Mick Curtis and Roger Mitchell took the score up to 69 before Roger was bowled for 15.Mick and John Uttley added another 44 when Mick was caught behind for 56(5 x 4s,2 x 6s). Derek Staines made 2 which brought in Dom Reynolds,who played a superb knock of 41containing 3 sixes and some great running between the wickets.With John playing another good innings of 64 not out with a damaged finger Fenstanton raced to the 200 mark.Dom was bowled going for the winning hit and it was left to Al Baillie to do the honours.A great finish to the season. |

Fenstanton 139 Allout 40 Overs
Willingham 135-9 40 Overs Fenstanton only had nine men and were very gratefull to umpire Dave Arnold for volunterring to play. Put in Fenstanton were soon in trouble at 30-4, Mick Curtis(3), Roger Mitchell(4), Dom reynolds(0) and Andy Hazelwood(16), Derek Staines led the fight back with 25, then Andy Taylor and Mark Everest both scored 30 in a crucial partnership of 63 Sean chipped with 10 and Madan was bowled for 2 to leave Dave unbeaten on 1. Willingham started in damp conditions and Madan claimed to early wickets, One being a super catch from Sean Gifford to dismiss danger man Andy Aspinal. Andy Taylor bowled tight 10 Overs for 22, but andy hazelwood was struggling on the wet wickets after 30 overs willingham were crusing at 111-3, but once sean dismissed opener Nick raven for 59 Fenstanton were back in the game. Sean bowled well again to take 5 - 31 and roger took 1-17 to give Fenstanton victory by 5 runs |

Milton without win this season,
batted first and soon lost their opener, runt out by Andy Hazelwood.
Milton recovered and by the 20th over were 71-3, aided by some slack
fenstanton fielding. One batsman was dropped seven times . Sean Gifford
bowled another good spell with 4-25 and Andy Taylor took 2-29 to
bowl Milton out for 134, but thius was not fenstanton good fielding
display.
Mick Curtis(44), batting with hand injury, and justin reynolds (26) gave fenstanton a good start with a stand of 62 . Dom reynolds(25) and Roger Mitchell (12) took us closer and even though we lost derek staines(8) and Andy taylor(0) we were see home by paul playford (9not out) and Steve Bodell (3 notout). |

Willingham 97 Willingham won the toss and put fenstanton into bat. Mick curtis and Justin Reynolds got us off to a Great start with a stand of 67 before justin bowled for 21. Roger mitchell(1) and Dominic Reynolds(3) did not last long, But Derek staines (13) and andy Hazelwood(14) managed to keep Mick company until he was finally out for well played 73. Paul Playford(5) and Banger(0) were also dismissed and the final total was 145-8. Andy Taylor made an early break through in a tight spell of 1-16 and Banger ran the other opener out with a great throw. Then late call up Secretary Steve Treeby came into the attack and bowled very well taking 3-25 including danger man Andy Aspinal, Scorer of a double century this season, for 31. Roger took 3-20 and Mick ran out one batsman with a right foot shot. Andy Hazelwood came back to bowl out the last man and Fenstanton won by 48 Runs. |

Woolaton 145-7 40Overs
Fenstanton 148-6 35.3 Overs Woolaton batted first and were soon in trouble at 16-3 with skipper Andy Taylor 1-6 and Madan gopal 3-26 among the wickets. Being a friendly the bolwing was changed several times with some good results, Steve Bodell taking 1-27 off 8 steady overs and Tim white 2-16 off 7 overs. We won't mention "Banger" with 3 overs for 24 runs but he made up for it later. Kelsey made 50 and woolaton finished up with descent score of 145 - 7. Madan opened the batting with John Uttely and was caught for 12. Dominic Reynolds for (1) did not last long , But Andy for (13) came in and put on 30 with John, who was clocking ip the Runs. Mark ricks was bowled for 0 and strode Banger in his navy blue shorts. Banger where's your trousers. He played a vital innings of 27 , Smacking 4 boundaries and taking us closer to the target of 146. Jason made 8(2 * 4s) and it was left to richard (ronnie) corbett, 3 not out and john uttely finishing his great innings on 70 not out, to see us home. |

Fenstanton 101 Allout Once again a good fielding performance was followed by Poor batting Andy 0-22, Madan 1-21 and roger 2-28,all bowled well ,Sean Gifford was the best bowler taking 4-27. Fenstanton reply was slow bust steady and at 20 Overs weree 41-2. John Uttely made a good 33 and while him and Andy 13 were together it looked possible to win, but once this two were out the following batsmen could not keep up and were bowled out with 2 overs left |

Fenstanton 86 Allout Mick won the toss again and put march into Bat. Andy and Madan started well and runs were hard to come by on a slow, low wicket, March were 15 -2, but wallis and davey took the score upto 64 with a good partner ship. Andy bowled a tight spell taking 1wicket for only 12 runs . Time white (9-18 for the seconds last week) wass unable to repeat his performance. Sean giffor and roger mitchell took over and wickets started to fall. Roger ended up with 5 - 26 and Sean with 3 - 44, March being bowled out on the last ball of their 40 Overs. After Mick departure for 8, Roger 13 and justin reynolds 12 looked at home and took the score to 43-1. Then Fenstanton has a disastorus collapse losing 7 wickets for 7 runs. Dick meadows 0, Jason Neate 0,Adam bruce 2,Steve Bodell 1and sean gifford 0, Madan and Andy came in and suddenly a win looked possible as the runs started to come, But Madan was out lbw for 15 and Tim white was bowled for 0 to leave Andy on 15 not out. 86 All out. A VERY DISSAPOINTING BATTING DISPLAY. |

Fenstanton 113-8 39.5Overs Andy Taylor and Madan Gopal bowled only 6 overs and were saved for later on, bringing Roger mitchell and Sean Gifford into attack. Roger Bowled 10 tight Overs 1-18 and sean, first bowl for fenstanton this season , took 3-38. Then Andy 2 -23 and Madan 1-29 came back and kept things tight to hold Histon to 112. The only drawbacks were Derekinjuring his back and going off as well as skipper Mick Curtis damaging a finger. Chasing 113 Mick Looked hampered by his injury and was out early for 3 with the score on 14 but Roger 23 and John Uttely 32 took the score to 46. Following rogers dismissal we were treated to the rare sight of Dominic Reynolds hitting a SIX over extra cover. Dom and john got the score to 81 -2, then the traditional Fenstanton Collapse occured Dom caught for 18, Steve Bodell Run out for 0, john well caught for 32 and sean bowled for 4, 89 - 7. Andy and Madan Steadied things and got to 105 when Andy was caught behind for 8.2 Overs left , 8 to win Madan and Kieran reynolds were last hopes with Derek unable to bat. Kirean hung on, Madan Cracked a four and with one ball spare he scrambled the single to win the game for Fenstanton. |

Fenstanton 119 - 9 40 Overs Fenstanton made a great start having march 5-3 with Andy Taylor and MadanGopal bowling well, But March recovered well and with two middle order batsman making 50 Finished up on 184-8. Fenstanton early batsman struggled aganist some tight bowling and late order batsmen Andy 27 and Luke Claxton 19 managed to push the score up to 119-9, But we were all beaten in the END. |

Cambden made a reasonable total of 156 with Madan Gopal being the pick of the bowlers with 3 - 19, Andy Hazelwood the only other bowler to take a wicket with 1 - 51. Fenstanton made a good start with Mick curtis and Roger Mitchell taking 34 off the first 7 overs before roger was bowled for 7. Then the bowling improved and runs were hard to come by. Mick 33 and John Uttley 18 both fell to spinner Armstrong, John being caught one handed very close to the boundary, Dominic 17 and Derek Staines 37 had a good stand, But once Derek was out the following batsman could not keep up with the runrate and we finished up 15 short. well we had to lose sometime, didn't we ? | |||||||

Fenstanton 90 - 1 Andy Taylor 0 - 23 and Madan Gopal 2 - 19 tied down Milton at the start and they were limited to 43 -2 off 20 Overs. Then Cliff Tattersall and Andy Hazelwood took over, Tat taking 5 - 28 and Hazelwood taking 3-16 in his first appearance of the season to bowl out Milton for 88. In Fenstanton reply poor Roger Mitchells bad luck continues and he was out for a Duck to a one handed catch. This was the only wicket to fall as Skipper Mick Curtis and Dominic Reynolds took advantage of some wayward bowling to saunter home in the 18th over, Mick making 44 and Dom 39. Five Played, Five wins. |

Fenstanton 113-6 30.2 Overs Another good fielding performance by Fenstanton with indian new comer Madan gopal taking 5-31 in his second match. Two more wickets for Roger and Cliff Tattersall). Seven Catches were taken three in the outfield for Mick Curtiss, all off Madan. Mick Curtis and Roger Mitchell got Fenstanton going with 16 and 18, then Justin scored another brisk 31 to take us 71-3. Dom Reynolds 1, Derek Staines 13, and Sean Gifford 6 (straight after a big six) fell, But John Uttley with a careful knock and Steve Bodell saw us home to Victory, Two games two wins. |

Fenstanton 142 - 4 38Overs Fenstanton fielded very well. Roger Mitchell and Cliff Tattersall both took two wickets, Andy Taylor and Madan Gopal making there debut managing one each. After Rogers early departure Mick Curtis and Justin Reynolds put on 48 with justin making 28. John Uttley came in and made a 37 to put on 55 with Mick. After Johns departure dominic Reynolds only lasted one ball and it was left to Derek staines to hit the winning boundary with Mick unbeaten on 49, including a big six onto the tennis courts. A good start to the season for Fenstanton. |
