1. Sleep is important. Very important. 2. You'll find out who your true friends in high school are. They're the ones that call you, write you, and take time out to help. 3. No matter how many people you meet, you'll never remember more than 3 names at a time (if that many) 4. There's always gonna be one class you hate, one boring lecture class, one dreaded night class, one too peppy teacher....... 5. Did I mention sleep? 6. Post-It notes are great- you can stick them anywhere and they're always there. 7. Water is a must. You'll drink a lot of water. 8. No matter how much crap you bring, you'll always forget something. 9. No matter how much crap you bring, you'll never fit it in your dorm anyway. 10. Bargain shopping is a must. Especially when you're low on funds. 11. You will get sick, you will throw up, you will want to die, then forget about it the next morning. 12. There's too many hours in the day and not enough at night. 13. For some reason, one hour and fifteen minute classes are the devil... 14. But having a two hour and 45 minute class is even worse. 15. No matter how cool your computer is or how new it is, it's gonna mess up. Just deal with it. 16. You don't do homework like in high school- these teachers don't care. You study. 17. If you think you did really, really good on a test, chances are you'll get it back and fail. 18. If you think you did really, really bad on a test, chances are you'll get it back and do awesome. 19. Get involved. It's more important in college than high school. You can meet more people. 20. Sorry, but fraternities and sororities are not all they're cracked up to be. Who wants to wear a alphakappadeltasigma shirt 24/7? 21. You'll get more bruises, scrapes, cuts, aches, and pains than a 3 year old. 22. Your old high school compositions won't come in handy. It just takes up extra space that you could use for something else. 23. You'll change. End of story. 24. Your friends will change. End of story. 25. Get used to the loud music and noise. Especially on game days. 26. Rides to and from home aren't too bad. Either way you go, you're going "home" or home. 27. You'll eat anything as long as it's free... 28. However, you may regret it later. 29. Clean up every once in a while. It's more fun than studying. 30. Getting mail in the mail box is more exciting than getting a birthday present. Especially those big packages from home! 31. You really don't need a lot of stuff that has your school stuff on it, you just want it. 32. Parking spots close to your dorm are sacred. 33. There will be times when you will be bored and there's nothing to do but update your website. 34. You'll be too lazy to study. 35. You'll regret that you were too lazy to study. 36. Weekends are great. Even better than in high school! 37. You'll start listening to music you've never heard of before. 38. You don't need that many shoes. You'll be too lazy to change out of the ones you have on. 39. Everything's funny. 40. Nobody cares what you did in high school. It's just about now and the future. 40. Cement blocks don't hold anything up.. 41. You'll never want to get off campus because you don't want to lose your parking spot. 42. You're the normal one- everyone else is weird. 43. It's not unusual to shower at different times in the day (8:00 am, 12:00 pm, 4:16 pm, 8:23 pm, 10:57 pm, 2:03 am......) 44. Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. 45. It doesn't matter what it is, you'll buy something as long as it can be microwaved. 46. It doesn't matter what it is, if you're hungry, you won't wait to heat anything up, just eat it cold. 47. If you don't stay with your laundry, it won't be there when you return. 48. Procrastination is a trait everyone has. 49. No sweet talking to the teachers here! 50. When you're home, you miss your friends here. When you're here, you miss your friends from home. 51. Anything you obtain can be re-used. Anything. 52. Cartoons rule! 53. Who cares if you wear your pajamas to class? 54. I'm sorry, but 9:00 is too early to be worrying about make-up. 55. There's always one special person that makes it worthwhile. 56. You're completely independent. No one's gonna wake you up, make you take a shower, make you eat, or tell you where to go and what to do. 57. Try something new. It never hurts to try. 58. You'll get in disagreements with people, get over it. 59. The grading system is better! A 90 is an A, and a 60 and below is failing. 60. Don't be surprised if you don't find out your grades. 61. If you think it's bad trying to avoid people in the high school hallway, try avoiding cars in the street. 62. Hold on, to add to 61, try avoiding cars in the street while it's pouring down rain. 63. Yes, sometimes you will be bored enough to do homework. 64. Even if it's an easy class, still study for the mid-term. It's really hard to answer essay questions when you haven't studied. 65. You will have friends from home that backstab you. "Even though the heart aches, there is a tomorrow." 66. Monday tests and quizzes are the devil. |
