United
States Police Defensive Tactics
Association (USPDTA)
The
Problem - Law enforcement officials internationally face a rapid growing
opposition, and increasingly skilled individual violent offenders.
Many law enforcement organizations have responded to this threat
by instituting training units on defensive tactics in their academy
programs. However, many departments lack ongoing in-service training
in this area that will contribute to an increase in officer awareness,
survival consciousness, and improved skills capable of adequately
responding to the threat presented by skillful assailants.
USPDTA's
current membership includes the representation of over 490 law
enforcement agencies and organizations alone. These include police
agencies at the local, county, state and federal levels, as well
as university police departments, private security and investigative
firms.
USPDTA's
instructors include internationally certified top martial artists
and law enforcement specialists representing a variety of martial
arts disciplines. Our newest Directors and members offer expertise
in the application of police defensive training across the U.S.
and Europe. Individual resumes for our instructors are available
upon request.
