Widow With Daughter to Support
How do we stop the inhumane treatment? As a rural carrier I was
permanently
injured while delivering the mail. That is when the harassment began
and to
this day it continues. No help in any way from management only threats
and
retaliation. Four surgeries and six years later I am still without
compensation. I was sent home 2 years ago and am still without income
and my
medical insurance has been discontinued. The postmaster never tried to
make
a job that would meet my medical restrictions but tells my union
steward that
he did. Management does not care about the individual only their money.
They
start to kill your spirit and make it as difficult as possible to go on
hoping that you will give up. It takes all my strength to deal with the
pain
and disparity in treatment.
As a widow with a daughter to support
while she
is still in school they have taken away my only means of support. I
think
they hope to drive me to suicide but somehow my faith in God keeps me
holding
on day by day. I continue to go through the steps to get help but so
far
nothing. I did not know that one human being could be so cruel to
another all
for the love of power and money.

I am an outspoken former President of the Rural Letter Carriers Union.
I am so sorry for any of the women who have been abused by this system
and the Neanderthals that allow this to even be in our workplace
If I can't help out I at least am going to remember all of you folks in prayer to lift you up where the Lord should have you be.

Reverend With A Plight to Survive
Dear Women,
I am another woman who has been victimized by
the USPS and the Office of the Postal Inspector General.
I sued the USPS for injuries and losses that I have
from an accident with an LLV. The USPS and the
Office of the Inspector General are attempting to destroy
me because I brought a suit against them and now
have an appeal that will give me a new trial and
allow me to bring a "Bivens" action against the
Post Office and the managers for bad faith, fraud,
destruction of evidence, denying me my
constitional rights, etc.
The USPS is out of control thinking that it is
a law unto itself and can abuse and destroy
people's lives without being held accountable.
Thank you for your efforts to educate the public
about the internal abuse of civil rights.

What Gave Birth to the Good Old Boy?
It behooves me how those responsible for abuse and mistreatment to
women sleep at night.
How do they take any woman to suicide?
How do they negligently retain a postal supervisor who has raped his
employee, and continue to fight her in court for many years?
Have they any regard for decency and the rights of a woman to labor
without having her body violated?
How does this large federal employer get away with this?
The Postmaster General is a man with no regard for women in his
workplace. What gave birth to this man? Perhaps, the "Good Ole Boys" network must end.
To read this is to be in shock of what goes on in the year
2000, and it's certainly inhumane, and unworthy for a Postmaster
General who is "easily pardoned" for allowing $250,000 for his
top official to make a minor geographical relocation, and to act as a General of some foreign country in charge
of American women.
No daughter or son of mine should ever work for the US Postal Service.

Trusting the Office of Inspector General
I have also been intimidated and retaliated by upper (male) management
when
bringing out some wrong-doings of my manager. His boss and the
District
Mgr did nothing but told me I was the problem.
They wanted to look the
other way while things were going on that should not be.
When my
manger
called me at home twice in five minutes one evening, harrassing me, I
contacted the Inspection Service because I did not know what he would
try
next. The Inspection Service did nothing.
I wrote a letter to the OIG
which
was finally handled 11 months later. Their so called investigation was
done
within a month and an OIG Supervisor told me my situation was not
serious
enough to get further attention.
I have been employed for 18 years,
never
received any discipline, but have had numerous "outstanding" merits.
Why
was I treated this way? I was a fool to believe that they really
wanted to
know inappropriate actions of my manager. I have not been to work
for eight months. I have used my Sick Leave and Annual Leave and
now am on Leave Without Pay for seven months.
The Postal Service has not offered to do one thing to correct
the
situation. What am I to do next?
This is why this type behavior continues, because they get away with
it,
and they know they can continue to get away with it. It must be
stopped NOW!--VC
Both Men & Women Abused
What a beautiful site!!!!!! And so profound!!
As an abused victim of the USPS I am only too aware of the tactics used
and methods set into motion in order to keep the truth of our pain in
the closet so that they may continue to inflict more as they please,
slowly driving too many of us to suicide, insanity and/or countless
other horrible conditions.
The fact that women are the primary (yet not exclusively), targets of
this rampant abuse makes me think of the witch hunts that took place so
many years ago. The woman who spoke her mind and/or believed a little
differently than what she was told to believe, was then labeled a witch
and sentenced to death. Is this not the same thing all these years
later, only done in a more "politically correct" way ---- quietly,
obscurely, and much more slowly???????
These witch hunts must be stopped immediately and permanently!! And
the
truth must be burned through the veils and walls that have been set up
to keep it hidden by the abusers and their conspirators.
Let's do it ladies, not only for ourselves but to honor all of those
who
have gone before us; male and female; and have given their lives trying
to bring the truth to light and paving a way for us to follow and
continue the quest to wipe out workplace abuse in every aspect.
God bless us all who fight for the right to live in peace and harmony;
those who refuse to accept violence and abuse as a way of life!!!

Battling Depression - No Rights to Be Reasonably Accommodated
I have not worked since August 1999. Between the latest bout of harassment by my supervisor on that day, and my medical condition
aggravated by work I took off. Doctors released me to go back to work on August 2000 of this year.
I am currently battling depression again because I am not being put back to work.
USPS is hiding behind the contract which states that the rural craft has no light duty.
Yes, that is stated in our contract. They neglect to acknowledge what we all know--there is limited duty for the people they like.
In Sept I called Human Relations after I found out there was a reasonable accommodations committee meeting.
I was told that I was not on the list of people to be included. I said that I would not be a part of it if I was not
supposed to be involved. They said, no, that it was unusual, but that I would be on the teleconference list.
I proceeded to be ambushed on the date of the meeting when I was
contacted that morning in the teleconference. Still trying to get
out of "attending" I said that I did not want to interfere with the
process. I was told, in a condescending manner, by the head of Human
Relations that I was "jumping the gun" but that since I was on the
line and everyone else was on that we'd just go ahead.
Since that day,I have asked Human Relations how long the process
would take. The person I was mandated to go through--her and only her)
gave me a song and dance about how many more cases they had and
that it could take up to 90 days.
In the meantime I sit. Doing nothing. I have applied for a few
part-time jobs just to take my mind of the above two activities.
These jobs were slam-dunk--I should have had a call back.
There was just one little problem---I am forced to fill out an
application form that asks for recent employer. It's the "kiss of
death" to list my history or when I put down "Currently on the
rolls, but not actively working. Please allow me to explain in interview."
NO ONE CARES!!! Even if you get this what can you do??
You can't change the FACT that we (the ones who know where the bodies
are buried--literally and figuratively) will ultimately be destroyed
along with our loved ones..... the faithful, sweet husbands who
want to rip "their" heads off but know they can't/don't dare;
the precious children who know Mom is torn up but are powerless to help her.
And you know why I say it won't change things???
Because IT NEVER CHANGES!! THAT'S PROOF POSITIVE.
