| The ad below appeared in the 1926 Proceedings of the International Railway Fuel Association. This is a fantastic volume, with reports given on the New Haven water tube boiler experiments, on early diesel-electrics, and with a brief presentation from Mr. W.H. Winterrowd, Assistant to the President of The Lima Locomotive Works, on the performance of the then year and a half old A-1 2-8-4. But this ad, in the front of the volume, was indicative of that which was to come, and which would displace even the fantastic A-1 and all it's descendants: the diesel-electric. |
