Saturday the 26th: Regional Trip to NASA/Johnson Space Center. This year we are choosing to do this during the Johnson Space Center / NASA Open House and Balloon Festival. Every space junkie should do it once. And the ballooning events and the fair like atmosphere are great.

Visitors to JSC Open House 2000 will have the same opportunity to visit the many control centers, training facilities, laboratories and engineering testbeds at the center, as well as nearby Sonny Carter Training Facility where astronauts practice for space walks and Ellington Field with its variety of NASA aircraft. Once again, hundreds of NASA employees, including astronauts, scientists, and engineers will gather once again to demonstrate the work being conducted at JSC as the center prepares for human space flight and technological research in the new millennium.

Sunday the 31st:Regional New Year's Eve Party -- Beginning the New Millennium --in Waco, Texas. The place will be the Clarion Hotel where we held the first Region Three Summit. Remember that they have an Indoor Pool for year round use and half of the rooms face the pool atrium area. Rooms (if booked by May 2000) will be $79 for 1 to 4 people. So, put this on your ship's calendar for next year. We will have a banquet dinner and dance on Sunday night for $30.00 per person. We also hope to get together for breakfast on Monday morning for those that can. More info to be announced.On 15 June 2000, I made an announcement about the Region Three New Year's Eve Party -- 2MI: Beginning the New Millennium -- in Waco, Texas on December 31st, 2000. In that announcement was the following part pertaining to the cost of the event. > We will have a Banquet Dinner and Dance on Sunday night for $30.00 per person. > We also hope to get together for breakfast on Monday morning for those that can. While this part is currently correct, it is not completely correct. What I failed to mention before was the following registration time table: Early Registration (before August 15, 2000) is $30 per person; Pre-Registration (before November 15, 2000) is $40 per person; and Late Registration (after November 15, 2000) is $45 per person.
