The planet Cardovera

The Federation has requested that the USS Conqueror escort
and ambassador to the Cardovera. The Planet Cardovera is a
secretive place. Outsiders have never been acted to visit
before. The whole planet is surrounded by a force field to
insure the privacy.
There is a war that has been going on for years now and the
2 sides has asked for a assistance in working out a peace treaty.
Now the peace talks start but the captain and a few others wonder
if then if they are interested in peace or more in his crew. 
And why they are not permitted to go anyplace on the planet.
Now just what would they want with  the crew of the
USS Conqueror?
