Welcome to the U.S.S. General Mark L. Hersey, AP-148, website. The intent of this site is to locate and communicate with shipmates, passengers, family members and friends of this ship who were part of the USS Hersey's illustrious career on the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.  My sister, Susan, and I have been involved with this ship's reunion group since 2000, when we took our father, Bill Owens, to a reunion in Omaha, Nebraska.  Since then we have attended two Hersey reunions in Olathe, Kansas and then on to Branson, Missouri in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.  The final U.S.S. General Hersey ship's reunion will be held in Fredericksburg, Texas October 11-14, 2008.  This reunion will include the placing of a plaque on the Memorial Wall at the National Museum of the Pacific War.  We hope you will be able to attend.           Barbara Owens Moon & Susan Owens Schmid

The 2007 USS General Mark L. Hersey reunion in Branson, Missouri was again a great success.  Shipmates, passengers, family and friends attended.  It was wonderful to renew friendships we have all made over the years.    .
