My Hobbies, Interests and Favourite Sites
I have an insatiable desire to learn. My hobbies include  generating classical music on the Spectrum Computer, which works on preloaded Basic Language, Graphics and Sound Management, Web Designing, videoconferencing, researching into different ways of sending videos, Online trading, learning computer applications, such as Microsoft FrontPage,Access, Excel,  Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw10, Flash etc

Of late I enjoy viewing satellite imagery with Google Earth, organizing albums in Picasa2, searching and accessing files by Windows Live and experimenting with blogs like MsnSpaces and Yahoo 360 degrees.

I have videotaped extensively the highlights of our daily life in Japan, the sakura and the fall colours, the scenic beauty of  Rokko Island, the shinkansen journey, the temples and shrines,  Canadian Academy, resorts which we have gone to, the parades,
Diwali  function & River Mall dances.  Editing and burning CDs has become my latest hobby.

I have also recorded Kathak, Bharat Natyam and Oddissi dance recitals by upcoming artists and captured the beauty and grace of  rhe classical dances of India. I have captured the 'abhinaya', the eye movements and expressions which you can get only in India and nowhere in the world.
          SATELLITE IMAGERY OF EARTH

I couldn't believe my eyes when I zoomed in from space to Rokko Island and located East Court IV, P&G and Entante buildings with exceptional clarity, viewing each object from as close as 300 feet above ground level, using Google earth satellite imagery.

I have created what are called pushpin points named Shantanu & Gauri and placed them on my desktop. A click on them instantly rotates and tilts the globe in Goodle Earth and zooms in on  building no 9 & 7 in East Court IV. These pushpin links can be shared with others.

You may download the following free site if you have Windows xp or 2000, 128 MB Ram, broadband. The screen is supposed to have 1024x728 resolution & 32-bit true color, though it works with 800X600 & medium 16-bit colour:
