DAY OF THE DEAD
It was probably around the beginning of August 2007 when I got a phone call from Julie Atlas Muz about a unique project taking place in a beautiful Faberge Egg shaped Opera House in Europe.
The majestic venue was the Theatro Circo, located in Braga, Portugal.
Supported by the local government in Portugal, the theatre hired Julie as a producer for a one night show that would lay bare the burlesque and Halloween adventures of New York City on the stage of this great theater. That's how I got involved in this unforgivable show "Day of The Dead." An MC that spoke fluent Portuguese was needed to introduce the audience to the superb cast of artists selected by Julie Atlas Muz in the very first minute of November, so I was the lucky one to cover for that ""gig"".
No doubt that it was one of the most spectacular moments of my freak life to be able to spend few days in the company of great performers coming from New York, London, Sydney, and also local members of the staff  of the Theatro Circo. Hugo Loureiro, who is in charge of production, was phenomenal in providing us with all the tools necessary for an incredible show that effected a unanimous standing ovation from the Portuguese crowd.
If you want to watch some of the memorable moments of this event that included Julie Atlas Muz, Mat Fraser, Meow Meow, Dirty Martini, Insectavora, Bunny Love, Bambi The Mermaid, Flambeaux, Tigger, Wau Wau Sisters, and Zhenesse (who didn't perform but gave us artistic support and makes impromptu appearances on stage), just google "Gazelle In Braga - DAY OF THE DEAD"
