Alter Ego is a Canadian publishing company with a focus on Québec works in translation. Check out the info. on The Euguelion by Louky Bersianik. It was translated into English by Howard Scott, who won the 1997 Governor Gerneral's Literary Award for English Translation. It's wonderful! I'm not at all biased though...Hi Uncle Howard!

Be ready to spend a bit of time finding the right card (some are pretty dorky), but it's a cheap, fast way to spread a little cheer! Magically created out of a love for theatre, a spark of entrepreneurship and a beautiful old church in Listowel, Theatre Three-Eleven is a jewel waiting to be discovered! With a new play featured every few months this intimate playhouse delivers funny, poignant and touching works - in a setting that is worth the (very reasonable!) price of admission alone! With min art gallery in the basement, featuring local and realtively unknown artists, fun bar area and two lovely young owners - this is not a place to be missed! Seriously, check out their website! Even if you can't make it to one of their plays, a tour of their website is an experience in itself...
I love TV Ontario! They have great programming that is commercial free (well, except for TVO show ads and the annual fundraising...). They actually do have something for everyone on TVO!! Really! Check out Stuff (loads of great crafts - not just for kids) and Changing Rooms (Tuesdays at 7:00pm - I think I'm addicted to this one!) Have fun!
