Chapter 1
//Finally I’m free//
Die looked at the dark blue sky as he breathed out. His face is showing a big smile. He’s now is inside a forest. He’s been around there since 4 hours ago, searching for a way out. Moon shone in the sky showing little light to the path. The red haired man wore his black kimono and he got nothing other than his small bag-like made by fabrics that tied up together. There’s some paper inside, moneys, dagger, and about 2 kimonos for change, also some onigiri.
“Now, where am I? How am I supposed to do in order to get out from this forest?!” He sped up his steps and he finally managed to calm himself down.
//Calm down Die!!! You’ll get over this,, anyway you should feel happy instead//
Die’s a student in a well-known school. He should work hard studying for the exams to become the government’s officer. That’s actually Die’s parents’ wish. They wished that Die could be the part of the government. But the person himself didn’t feel like it. He just thought that, that isn’t his way of life. He wants something more… different. He won’t let his life became just like anybody else, boring.
The sound of wheeled cart caught Die’s ears.
//Hey, there’s some sign of living. Horse’s steps… I’ll follow it//
Then he ran towards the sound, ignoring the fact that his feet were being scratched by the wild grass and some roots that jolted out from the ground beneath.
Also he didn’t forget to bring his fabric-bag with him.
He cast his eyes, trying to adapt his vision in the dark. The cart,,, he found it. It’s a farmer’s. It has a horse that pulled the cart strongly with the farmer itself that rode at the front of the cart.
Die walked faster. Seeing no one, he jump onto the back of the cart, threw himself there. Strands of straws were all there around him. He pulled out one pack and put it behind his head, pretended that it was the nicest pillow ever.
He rested his head. After a 4 hours walking, he felt absolutely tired. He looked at his own feet. The wooden clog almost broke. He sighed, thinking of his home. It’s so nice to be there with his otou~san, okaa~san…
// I wonder what’re they doing now.. I’m such a big bastard,, leaving home when my parents put a huge hope on my shoulders.. I bet they’re angry like hell..//
He looked around again, smiled and satisfied. //I’ll pay the farmer once we arrive. I just need sleep now… a good deep sleep.. I need rest// He didn’t know how much time that he spent since he’s drowning in his nice dreamland.

“Quick, Toshiya,, I’ll help you,,, here” The auburn haired man spoke up in a low tone reassuring that everything was all right. A small sigh as a reply. Toshiya pulled up his kimono a bit, letting his feet bare. He walked faster, followed the other man.
“I hope they’re off guard ne, Shinya,,,”
“Hope so,,, that’s the way out,, faster,,,”
Toshiya curved his lips up knowing the fact that he didn’t need to be sad anymore. “I’m so bad ne,, I’m running away one day before my wedding day”
Shinya replied him with a smirk. “Ooh,, come on Toshiya,,, I’ll do the exact thing as you do now if I am the one who has been engaged. No one wants to marry someone they don’t know before… hurry up Toshiya,,”
Toshiya’s lighten up hearing Shinya’s statement. “You’re a good person. Thanks Shinya…”
“No need… Hey, this is better than I thought… I think I saw a cart drove away,,, come on” Shinya dragged Toshiya out from the bushes and the two best friends tried to catch up with the cart.
“Shin~chan,, my,,, my feet hurts.
“There’s no time,,,” They breathe hard trying to consume more oxygen. “Hold onto the side of the cart Toshiya!!” Shinya cried out breathlessly.
The moonlight made Toshiya can see around easily. He held onto the wood that nailed at the back side of the cart. He tried his best to hold on. Then he get in, yes he get in. he did it.
Toshiya turned around to see Shinya. He tried to reach Shin’s hand but it’s too far. He spoke desperately “Shin,,, hold onto me,,,”
The other person also tried hard to pull the hand as he ran but he couldn’t. It’s just too far,,, there’s too much space between. The cart went faster slightly causing them to separate more.
“Shinya… don’t leave me—Shin—“
“Toshiya!!!” Shinya shouted helplessly, unable to catch Toshiya’s hand. He only could see Toshiya’s been dragged away, away,, away,,, until there’s nothing in front of him to be seen.
Meanwhile,,, “Shinya…Shinya…..” Toshiya still called out Shinya’s name even though there’s no Shinya in front of him. He’s lost behind his thoughts. “Don’t leave me alone Shinya.. Now what can I do if I am alone..???! I won’t be able to do anything,,, I need you by my side…Shinya”
Toshiya didn’t realize that there’s another person inside that has woken up because of his noisiness.
“Sssshhhh…. You’d better shut your mouth up..”
Toshiya froze instantly hearing the low tune of the voice. He looked around for sure and finally his eyes rested in the middle of the straws. A man with deep red hair.
The man now was staring at him. His dark eyes eyed Toshiya’s clothes that showed a bit of his legs and chest carefully. //Nice,,, Why on earth a person like him with that kind of outfit got into a cart in a time like this? Nice blue kimono,, he’s a good-looking person. His hair tied up into a sort of ponytail. Make it nicely, also his innocent face… Make me shudder when I looked when I looked at those teary eyes// Die smiled as he wondered.
“What,,, what are you looking at?!!” Toshiya encouraged himself to speak at the stranger.
“Nothing. Just wandering… What’re you doing here? At time like this? I mean—it’s already midnight and—“
Toshiya held his own body tight. “I—I—Then what’re you doing here? The same goes for you,,”
Die grinned “Me? Oh,, I was sleeping when I heard you cried over ‘Shinya’ or something..”
Toshiya held his body tighter and he spoke, shielding himself “You don’t seem like the owner of this cart..”
“Yeah,, actually I am not” said Die. He managed himself to sit up behind those straws. Toshiya looked at Die, suspicious and Die could sense it and all he could say is “We’re both strangers. Do you mind telling your name? I am Die.. Introduce yourself so it will be fair for us”
“Fair.. what?”
“To know each other’s name” The blue haired man answered hesitantly “To..Toshiya…” All he can do was sitting there.
“Are you afraid of me?” said Die innocently.
Toshiya didn’t answer the simple question. He avoided an eye contact too. Noticing this, Die tried to lean closer to Toshiya. But, when he stretched his body to get closer, Toshiya draw out his dagger from behind his silk kimono and pointed its sharp point at Die.
“Don’t come near me…”
“Why?”
//Dumb red headed!! How dare you asked out a question like that. I’m sure you’ve known the answer already!!//
“Come on.. I do no harm to you..” Die reached Toshiya’s hand and he tried to pull the dagger away from the pale fingers that gripped the thing tightly. And with his strong hands the dagger’s been pulled away. The red haired man grabbed Toshiya’s wrists and pinned him down. Toshiya’s body tensed beneath Die’s.
“What the hell—”
“Ssssshhhh…..” Die covered Totchi’s mouth with his palm “The farmer might hear us..”
“Lemme go!!! Lemme go!!” Toshiya tried to break free. He hit Die with all of his strength. Die gave up finally and let the thin figure beneath him strode away.
“Gomen ne…” That sentence was the last that could be heard from the cart. The rest of the night went on silently, there’re no words to be spoken, not any word fell from any mouth. Toshiya tried to sleep after he made sure that Die won’t do anything against him, again. But it’s hard indeed, to sleep while you’re thinking about you’re previous home. So, Toshiya just set his breath and lowered his head, letting it touched his already-bent knees.
Toshiya opened his eyes when he felt a tapped on his shoulders. An image of red was all around his eyes. //Where am I? This isn’t my room..// Toshiya tried to remember what has happened last night. Then he realized it. He had run away from home. //hey, what’s that red thing?// Toshiya need a long time to recognized Die’s hair. Finally he said “What?”
Die smiled at him “It’s morning already. Do you wanna get outta here or wait here until the farmer finds you?”
Toshiya pouted. He’s too tired to get out.
“Come on. I’ll help you” Die offering his hand. But Totchi just shook his head “No thanks. I could do it myself,,” Not long after that he climbed down the cart. They two thanked the farmer and his horse fully inside their mind as they began to walk to another direction. “Where are you going?” Die asked Toshiya.
Toshiya looked around, only to find a bridge, peoples, river, houses, some sign of living. He shook his head “Dunno. I’ll follow this path..”
“Hnn,, it’s hard though… You don’t have any plans?”
“No…” He added “Last night I just think about a way to ran out from home but I don’t think about what would I do next,,, I thought I’ll think about it with Shin—but I ended up here, alone..”
“Okay then. I guess I‘ll go to another way. Take care” Die walked away from there. He waved his hand at Toshiya who smiled back in response. Toshiya sighed and continued walking. But in some minutes, he heard footsteps getting closer. Die’s come back again. His black kimono swung, showing a part of his legs and arms.
“Hey..”
“Hey, Die.. What? Did you forget something?”
“Do,,, Do you have some money?” Die asked him.
“No. I’ve said that I have nothing..”
Die narrowed his eyes “No plans, no moneys??”
Toshiya just bowed his head, didn’t say anything. Unexpectedly, Die pulled Toshiya’s hand and put something on it. Toshiya blinked because of this sudden action.
“It’s for you. It’s all I have..” Die smiled. After saying ‘take care’ once again he walked away, leaving Toshiya stood up there.
//What’s inside this?// Toshiya finally found the answer as he unwrapped the thing. It’s money. Not much but it can lasted for almost a week of living. Then he remembered Die’s words. //‘ It’s for you. It’s all I have..’ Does he mean that he now has no money?? Dumb!! Does it mean that he gave all of his money to a completely stranger like me?!!! Why??? What are he thinking about…?//
Toshiya ended his thought and he turned his body hesitantly, took the direction that goes on the same with Die.

//Where is he?// Toshiya walked nervously, looked around, somehow he was hoping to see the red haired man. He kept walking and looked into his surrounding. He now is in the big wooden bridge. He cheered up when he saw the familiar red head walking meters away in front of him. //Finally,,,,//
“D—“ He’s about to shouted Die’s name when he felt his hand’s been pulled up roughly. His body hit the edge of the bridge and he looked at that person who has done this rough thing to him.
“What a nice body.. Made me burn in this hot weather,,,”
“Ohhh,, stop that Haku~chan.. we have another business to run up with. You can play in another time” The other man tried to pushed his friend away. “Hey what’s wrong Haku, Sugizo?” A tall figured appeared.
“Look at this man!!!” Haku pointed Toshiya and licked his lips. “He looked tasty…”
Toshiya glued his back to the wooden bridge. Three persons around him, apparently looked all strong and muscular. He looked behind //River.. What should I do? Should I jump?// But the thoughts went away when his hand’s been pulled away again.
“No!! Stop that!!” Toshiya shouted “Let me go!!!” But the shout just made Haku more enthusiasm. So he gripped his hand tighter.
Die, who walked few meters away, looked back when he think he heard something familiar. But then he kept walking, thinking about his foolishness. He does always be the dumb red haired ever. // I have nothing now. I know how dumb I am.. but I think he need the money more than me//. He smiled at himself. Then again, the familiar voice brought his head back. He turned out and walked back over the small path. When he’s near the bridge, he can see Toshiya and the three mans around him.
//Toshiya?? He’s been cornered, am I right?// “Hey.. Toshiya!!!” Die shouted, loud enough for all of them to hear it. Somehow, Toshiya felt relieved.
Die moved closer and then he grabbed Hakuei’s hand and claiming Toshiya. “Sorry he’s with me..” He smiled over Haku.
“How dare you—screwing my—“
Die cut his sentence off “Yeah… But he’s with me. What about it?”
The rest of the man gripped Haku’s hand and pulled him. They walked away after said sorry. “ I’m so sorry for bothering you… He’s always like this…”
Die stood up beside Toshiya; looking at him //No wonder many people want you that much. Too pretty…//
Toshiya was the one who started the conversation. “Arigaotu… You saved me” Die grinned “It’s no problem”
“Ano.. when I unwrapped the thing that you’ve given to me I decided to search for you..emm..it’s..I mean this money is all you have right? You shouldn’t gave this to me.. Here,,, take it back..” Toshiya offered back the money.
“No no… You take it…”
“But…But..”
“Take that Toshiya..”
“I wont..”
There was silence. Two peoples that are very very stubborn won’t give up to each other.
“Hmpfff… I’ll accept it but in one condition” Toshiya sighed
Die raised his eyebrows “And what is that?”
“You have to take me with you. You bought me… sort of that… I’ll be yours.. I’ll be the servant, the slave..”
Die couldn’t reply. Something inside him didn’t let him.
“Make your decision..”
“Ok..” Die finally gave up.
They continued walking, following the little path in front of them. The board says that it will lead you to the downtown. “Hey, Toshiya... Remember to buy some kimonos for you once we arrive in town. You’ll attach more people if you dressed up like that” Toshiya then looked down to his body. What Die has said is absolutely right. He just wore a blue kimono that exposed a little part of his chest and neck which made him even sexier. Toshiya noted that on this mind and bowed his head. He muttered “hai” as a reply.

A month has passed since that long and weird day. Die and Toshiya now are living in a small wooden house near the river. It’s the cheapest that they only can afford. It’s not a nice house after all. Beside the house there’re some big sakura trees stood up and some bushes with colored flowers on it. This scenery is the most beautiful according to the other side of the house. The path along the house is covered by the wild grass. But somehow the grass is very good looking and no one bothered to cut down them. In other way, the house only consists of two rooms, the window with deep white frame almost broke causing the cold air to get in and Die and Toshiya had to share one warm blanket every night.
Lately Die got a job as a private teacher in a rather well-known family. After all Die’s pretty smart. The payment isn’t kinda high but it can manage the small cost of needs that he and Toshiya had been through. Usually Die would work all day and came home late of midnight because of his busyness. But if he got a day off, he would take Toshiya somewhere to drink or to watch some festivals. He felt so right to have Toshiya as one of his drinking partner. Other way, Toshiya worked as a servant in a small restaurant near the temple. In his spare time, Toshiya would go to the temple to pray for a better life or he would just take a walk and looked around, playing with some kids there. Sometimes he felt jealous over children that got there by their family. Toshiya is just Toshiya who didn’t have anybody that he could call as a family except Die. There won’t be such a parents who engaged their child to get rid of their debt. In this case Toshiya felt not to be engaged but he felt that he had been sold to another family. And then he do what his heart had said, he runaway from home. He even asked himself what had been Shinya doing after he left. All the way they were friends since childhood and seldom get separated.
Toshiya and Die got occupied with their own job and now they didn’t have much time to chat with each other, to know how things have been going lately.
One day Toshiya walked down the road that leads him to his home. His kimono swung as he walked with his big steps. He kept rubbing his pale cheek which is not pale anymore because now there’s a red mark across the tender flesh. “Shit,,, damn oyaji!!” He cursed along the way. “Make fun of me in front of the other guest. Who do you think you are?!!! After all you’re just a dirty old man that has no money!!!”
He reached his home soon afterwards. After opening the door he felt a bit surprised to see Die’s wooden clog at the ground inside, near the front door. //Whaa?? He has got back from work already?? Hmm,,, It’s not like the ordinary days. Is there something wrong anyway?//
Toshiya stepped his feet slowly at the cracked floor. When he came inside he saw see the red haired sitting in a relaxed position. He greeted him then
“Hi, Die,, Why are you go home this early?”
“Why? You don’t wanna see me around huh?”
“Nooo,,, It’s—“
“Just kidding Toshiyaa,, hehehehe”
“I just wondering umhh… you have some problems maybe?” Toshiya asked Die curiously.
“My student is sick this day, so I got a day off.. Satisfy with this answer Toshiya~sama?” Die said the last word with a pressure that drew Toshiya’s attention.
“Umphhh…Don’t tease me anymore!!!”
“Heehehehe…. I can’t… You’re too easy to be tease..” Die sat up, grabbed Toshiya’s hand and pulled him closer. Then he gave Toshiya a headlock.
“WOOA,, let me GO!!!”
“HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!”
Toshiya blushed with this action. In a sudden Die stopped. Toshiya looked up to see Die’s face, wanna know what’s going on. He surprised when he met Die’s eyes which stared at him in a strange way. He blushed even more when the red head locked their eyes for a few seconds.
“What’s wrong Die? Toshiya tried to hide his blushing face.
Die stared at Toshiya’s cheek and gave him some inspections. He wanna touch the smooth skin but he decided no to. “What’s this red mark about Toshiya? Where did you get it?”
“This morning. One of the guest made some mess.. I tried to warn him but he hit me instead” Toshiya spoke with his calm voice.
“Does it hurt?..”
“…It hurts…”
“Are—Are you all right Toshiya?”
“I am. It’s just a little thing”
After a long pause, Die spoke with his funny voice, “Ne, are you tired Toshiya?”
“No. Why?”
“Let’s take a walk then” Die smiled wide and added “We didn’t chat much lately. Come on Toshiya!”
So in the next few minutes the two people went out for a walk. The scenery was rather beautiful. An orange sky covered with some clouds that hung like a white curtains. Its light shone over the hill and some bamboos swung its branches nicely left and right depending on how the air moved. The sunset was going down and will replace by the moon soon. Toshiya walked happily beside Die. They chat about their condition lately and Die told some jokes as usual, told many stories that actually didn’t have any meaning at all, dumb stories. Toshiya’s pain erased between their laughter.
//Thanks Die. I know you’re trying to cheer me up.. and—I have you with me. That’s all that matters now// Toshiya felt so happy this time. But that happiness soon fallen to pieces as a hand tapped Die’s shoulder and the slim figure approached.
“Andou~san..” Said the little yet feminine voice.
Die turned his head. He thought he heard a familiar voice. And there, stood a cute girl around 16 with a charming smile. She looked adorable in her nice deep white kimono with a small sakura pattern. The golden obi circling her slim body looked so fit there. Toshiya looked at her kimono. And then he looked at himself.
//How beautiful her kimono is compared to mine. Mine is nothing. Just a simple blue kimono, with no pattern on it…// Toshiya felt so embarrassed at himself, at his kimono.
She greeted Die and Die recognized her as his private student. The girl also said ‘hi’ to Toshiya. Toshiya just smiled her back, didn’t know what to say. He looked at Die and he noticed that Die had his big smile across his face every time he said a word with the girl. Even his face was blushing as red as his hair.
Soon Die and the girl chatted along the way, a lot, leaving Toshiya behind, forgotten. Toshiya walked behind them. He nodded his face, looking at the darken ground.
//She must come from a happy rich family… Her smile says so… And she is Die’s private student. Die must have sort of feelings for her. They look so fit together and she looked absolutely perfect. Not like me….//
Toshiya lifted his head up and was greeted by a scenery of two people walked, chatted happily together. Then he stopped. His feet seemed to glue down at the ground. Toshiya stared at the two people who walked away from him.
//Shit!!! I feel like an idiot. Why should I be here in the first place? Or should I say—why should she greet die??!//
Then sounds on his head appeared, echoed, and spinning around, stuck.
Who’s Die anyway?
//He’s—he’s my….. onii~chan//
Are you jealous Toshiya?
//Why on earth should I jealous?!! He’s just like my onii~chan//
JUST like..
//No I am NOT jealous…//
But you ARE
//No way and I’m not jealous over anything!!//
What are you to him?
//I..—I’m//
Do you realize that the way he’s looking at you now is different?
//I—..//
Don’t you realize that your feelings to him are now more than a feeling between a person to its brother?
//I don’t!!! I don’t!!!//
Toshiya closed his eyes. He shook his head muttering some refusal about what he’s thinking. But the sound won’t go away.
His mind wandered back to its proper place when a too familiar voice spoke out and the person popped his head in front of Toshiya. Toshiya gasped instantly as a reaction.
“Die!! You scared me!!”
“You ARE the one who scared me!!! After I finished chatting with her and I turned my back, you weren’t there. I thought you lost or something. So I ran back and finally I found you—here—stood up like a fool..”
“Wha—?” Toshiya’s sentences were cut down by Die.
“What exactly are you doing here?” Die raised his voice.
“I—I thought you forgot about my presence…”
“No way I’ll forgot you,,, What are you thinking??!”
No answer.
An idea got over Die’s head “Are you get jealous over me?” He teased Toshiya. And then he went again “I mean over that girl..”
“NO WAY!!!! I won’t!!!” Toshiya pushed Die aside and walked back home. This time he leaving Die behind. His head was full of tons of refusals and questions. //I am NOT jealous, am I?//
//Toshiya??? Shouted to me?!!! Is he angry??//
After some seconds of an useless thought, Die caught up with Toshiya. “I’m just kidding… hoi…”
“Earth to Toshiya….!! I’m just kidding okay?!!”
No response.
“I’m sorry okay!!!”
Still no response.
“Toshiya! I said sorry!!”
Toshiya pouted, ignoring the red head, pretended that he didn’t hear anything and kept walking until he felt that his body’s been wrapped around by a pair of warm arms from behind.
Toshiya stunned.
Die put his head on the junction of Toshiya’s neck and shoulder. He opened his mouth and whispered near the ear, making Toshiya shuddered with that.
“Actually… I hope that you’re jealous…” He continued
“Do you know after nearly a month sharing blanket with you I—……You have no idea how bad I wanna hug you like this. To wrapped my arms around you… It’s absolutely hard to keep myself calm, to keep my hands away from you when we share the same blanket… You have no idea Toshiya… You have no idea…”
Toshiya blushed instantly hearing those confessions. The words that feel from Die’s lips,, the words that he wanted to hear so badly that he always kept deep in his heart..
Toshiya’s back is pressing Die’s chest tightly. Not any space was seen there. Then without anyone’s expectation, Die licked Toshiya’s tender neck, bit a little then sucked it gently. Totchi arched his head unconsciously, giving Die more access to go.
“Die…Die…” Finally he said that name. Want. Need. That all filled Toshiya’s word. This word echoed in Die’s ear. Only some words but it has deep meaning.
Die slipped his hand inside Toshiya’s kimono, rubbed the pale skin there. Caressing the nipple. His hands got lower to the slim waist, trying to undoing the obi. Totchi’s moaning louder.
“Toshiya.. Let’s get umhhh… back home… mmhhhh… I’m,, I’m so tired” Die kept kissing and licking and sucking as he spoke those statement.
“Hai… I….ahhh… know that you’re tired..”
