    Gould, Lyn: Died: August 27,1989 when a flight helicopter crashed while transporting a felony fugitive who had been wounded in a shooting. Lyn, 31, was described by the director of flight operations as an "...hysterically funny perfectionist who took her job seriously. She was a real problem solver.     Henderson, Harold R. (Hal) Lt.: Died Aug. 29,1997, as reportedly noted on his Death Certificate, due to: Complications from Latex Poisoning. Hal, 40, entered the nursing profession through first starting out as a Corpsman with the Navy 22 years earlier. His loves as a RN were intensive care and the ER. He first began experiencing mild symptoms while serving in the Middle East during Desert Storm. Repeated hospitalizations for respiratory symptoms plagued the last year of his life. He died in the ICU where he worked after suffering a full arrest on duty at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA/USA. Lieutenant Hal was survived by his wife, three children, his mother, sister and brother.     Kepner, Carol Sue: Died June 18, 1999 while being held hostage for two days at Norristown State Hospital in Pennsylvania/USA. She was shot along with the Director of Nurses who survived. Reportedly, a former nursing employee who had been terminated in the recent past was arrested at the scene. Carol Sue was 54 and was the second highest administrator in the nursing dept.   Laroza, Nelia. Died June 29,2003 in Toronto, Ontario/Canada. Hundreds of nurses attended services for Nelia where "There were no surgical masks to hide their faces yesterday, no masks to hide their sorrow...." Nelia, 51, was the first Canadian nurse victim of SARS* which she contracted while working at North York Hospital in a city that had been placed on travel restriction by the World Health Organization due to the extent of the outbreak there. The significance of Nelia's death and the risks taken by scores of nurses as well as other healthcare workers over several weeks was acknowledged by the attendance of Ontario's Premier, Earnie Eaves.
