Teamwork is something that is commonly felt that the Canadian Women's Team needs to learn more of. All I have to say is too bad Clara was having an off day. I feel the outcome might have been different.
The situation that is being discussed as to whether Jeanson 'chased' down Bessette I am sure will long be debated. I am not sure what the exact tactic should have been in that circumstance. Should Jeanson have waited longer and then attacked? Should she have just blocked? Material for much debate. I know that Bessette is upset and Jeanson has said that she gave it her all. I have no answers to that. All I can say is that it looked like the right move for Bessette. Too bad it did't work out for her.
It is my opinion that Jeanson will have to learn the teamwork lesson soon, if she hasn't already. Many people are commenting on the fact that she is the next Longo. Well, Longo saw a lot victories in racing as an individual when women's racing was different than it is today. It was a time when individual efforts won and lost races. That may still happen once in awhile, not at the frequency that we saw in Longo's era.
What I did see, as I am sure that you all did, was Jeanson seemed to be marking Bessette through the closing stages of the race, as if she just wanted to make sure that she beat Bessette.
