Posadas & Cabins in Venezuela
Elizabeth Kline is a freelance writer and photographer who has been living, working, and traveling in Venezuela since 1981. With more than 750,000 km (so far...) exploring every corner of the country behind the wheel of four faithful Fiats (along with numerous flights and excursions in boats, in 4x4s, on horseback or on foot, to places beyond the reach of her beloved little cars), in the process of discovering new places to share with readers and to constantly update information about tourist destinations.

She was the main tourism writer for The Daily Journal (Venezuela¹s English language newspaper) 1983-1993 (5 years as correspondent for the Central Region from Valencia and 5 years as a full-time journalist in Caracas), providing the photos and text for over 400 articles about tourism destinations in all parts of Venezuela and in other parts of the world.
In 1995, she published the first edition of "Elizabeth Kline¹s Guide to Camps, Posadas & Cabins/Guía de Campamentos. Posadas y Cabañas in/en Venezuela" (which has grown from including some 370 places to over 2,000 offers), completely updated yearly (except for 2003 and 2004 due to the complications of the National Strike), based exclusively on her own investigation, with information about new "discoveries" and unannounced visits to known places.

From 7/2001 to 12/2002, she had a regular weekly column about Venezuelan tourism in El Nacional; from 7/2002 - 12/2005, she was once again with The Daily Journal with a page on tourism every weekend; and, since 6/2003 has had a weekly page in the "Ruta Turística" section of the Sunday edition of El Universal, the newspaper with the largest national circulation.

At the request of El Universal, she prepared a collectors series (of 24 sections) "Los Mejores Posadas, Campamentos y Cabañas en Venezuela" (a selection of ±215 of the best posadas, camps and cabins in Venezuela), launched in 10/2003, sponsored by the newspaper and Banco Mercantil, which increased the paper's circulation by 42% during its distribution. Due to its the success, she was contracted to do another, "Lo Mejor de Venezuela" (a general guide to the best of Venezuela in destinations, events, gastronomy, crafts, flora and fauna, etc.), in 16 sections, which debuted in 10/2004.

She prepared the text and photos for numerous articles published in Viasar, the in-flight magazine of the Venezuelan flag-ship airline Viasa; Escape, a magazine of Grupo Editorial Producto focusing on national and international destinations; Revista Shell, the magazine published by Shell Venezuela; Entonces, a trimestrial free time/tourism guide; Business Venezuela and Living in Venezuela, the monthly magazine and biennial guide for recent arrivals, respectively, published by the Venezuelan American Chamber of Commerce (VenAmCham), among others, until the disappearance of the majority of them.

She has done the updating of the last five editions of Insight Guide Venezuela and the section about Venezuela in the two most recent versions of Insight Guide South America.

In addition to sharing information via printed mediums, Kline has given numerous illustrated lectures about tourism routes, folkloric manifestations and other themes to promote greater appreciation of the beauties and cultural riches of Venezuela. She prepared text and photos about national tourism for presentations in the United States by Club Recreacional de PDVSA and for the former national corporation (Corpoturismo) and current national institution (Inatur).
