| May 2002 - Our crew's third year of staffing Tiger Cub Safari was filled with all of the usual highlights: seeing Joe dress up as Pocahontas, midnight silk screening, and running activities for those adorable little Tiger Cubs | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| February 2002 - Rock climbing at Sunrise is one crew activity that we never get tired of, the February outing was no exception. We climbed until the gym closed and then went to Nations for some burgers and to hear Michelle tell everyone for the thousandth time that she climbed one face with "No hands!" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| January 2002- Venture Crew 937 and 913 teamed up to go snow camping at Two Sentinels by Kirkwood. We snowshoed in to our campground (which was appearantly harder from some) with the help of a guide and soon started building igloos and snow caves and other snow dewllings. Particularly memorable was the watertower domicle built by Tim and Dan. When night fell we warmed ourselves in a nearby cabin with a fireplace and played Mafia while Sabrina gave massages to undeserving members of both Venture Crews. We snowshoed back the way we ame the following morning after cleaning up our campsites. While we were loading up the cars with our gear it started to snow. Michelle, Krista, Allison and Joe all had fun looking at pretty snowflakes. We had lunch with the angry employees of the Burger King in Jackson and return home to divy up gear at Joe's house and eat the remaining oranges. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| December 2001- Ski Trip - Although we have no pictures, we do have eyewitness testimony from Kirk (whose cabin we stayed in), Garret (who set a record for eating fruit cups), Marna (who picked out great food...like spaghetti), Michelle (who snowboarded for the first time ever) and Krista (who got schooled in playing Password). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| October 2001- SPELUNKING! We have a ton of photos. Pictures from before, during and after. Let's run through it chronologically. First, we have Joe taping up Dan's boots while Sam is "helping." Once we all had our shoes taped up, we took a group picture. Then we put on jumpsuits and helmets and gloves. After that, we took another group picture. We went to the cave entrance with our guides and started spelunking. Lisa and Garret were spied sitting on a rock shelf while Michelle was got to be "born" from the womb, a small cavern with an even smaller entrance. However, the fun had just begun. As we descended the cave got muddier and muddier until we were knee-deep in mud (or waist-deep for Lisa). A few mud fights broke out and Michelle was unfairly attacked with a huge mudball which landed in her face allegedly thrown by one of the Steiber men. Unfortunately, there are no pictures to document this period of the caving experience. All we have are pictures of the aftermath. At that point there was nothing left to do other than attempt to clean-up. (Our 2 guides are featured in this photo, the mountain man and the girl in the orange coveralls.) Patrick and Dan and Lisa prefered to bask in thier flith and spent some time taking in the mud. Dan was overheard saying, "I bet this will help my complexion, I really do." That evening we camped at a local campsite and played Mao in the morning. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
