Who runs Venture Club: Venture Club is a commercial division of Cape Town based mountain guiding company Venture Forth Excursions cc. It operates from its base school, Western Province Prep School in Claremont. Venture Club is endorsed and supported by many schools but is not a school activity and operates as a commercial company. Venture Forth Excursions was started in 1994 as a commercial mountain guiding and mountaineering training company. The company specializes in all sorts of mountain based adventure activities for both children and adults. Venture Forth has a 100% safety record since it was formed in 1994. |

Walther Meyer has been hiking and climbing for over 15 years in the South African mountains. He has trained locally and overseas with the American Alpine Institute completing their intensive Technical Alpine Mountaineering Leadership Programme. He is a member of the SA Mountain Guides Association and Mountain Club of South Africa. Walther holds the MDT Mountain Walking Instructor Award and is a registered Emergency Care Practitioner and active member of volunteer EMS and Search & Rescue. Walther has lead successful expeditions to the greater ranges of the world including the Andes and the mountains of East Africa. He acts as manager and program director for Venture Club. |
Oliver Dolby. Oliver holds a B.A. degree in Outdoor Education from Strathclyde University, Scotland and has been teaching and coaching rock climbing since 1987. Member of South African Mountain Guides Association and the Mountain Club of S.A. Holder of the British Orienteering Federation Instructor Award. Oliver holds the MDT Rock Climbing Instructor and Mountain Walking Instructor Awards and is a Satour registered Specialist Guide. |

Ross Cowlin. Ross was once a Venture Club Kid himself and joins us as a full-time instructor as of January 2003. He has trained to MDT Advanced Mountain Walking Leader and Single Pitch Supervisor level and holds a Level 3 Emergency Aid certificate. Ross is an active rock climber and mountaineer with high altitude, alpine and expedition experience gained in East Africa and the Andes. He is a student at the University of Cape Town where he is working on a degree in Zoology. |
