Authorities are baffled by this short string of still-unsolved abductions in the Oklahoma City area. On August 26, 1981, thirteen-year-old's Charlotte Kinsey and Cinda Pallett disappeared after notifying their parents that they had been offerred a quick job at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds unloading stuffed animals. The two young girls wer never seen again.

Just three days after Kinsey and Palletts's disappearance, Sheryl Vaughn and Susan Thompson, both sixteen, were reported missing after the vehicle they were driving was found abandoned along a highway near Newalla. They too, vanished without a trace.

Only one known suspect was briefly detained and later released when it was discovered he had been nowhere near Oklahoma at the time of the abductions. A description by witnesses of a man seen with Kinsey and Pallett has since led investigators nowhere. Police consider all four girls missing and dead.
